updated for ANOTHER question

I decided to edit this post to ask another question. Our bunny is in the bedroom with us, because I felt like keeping her in the kitchen wouldn’t work, because we have a total of four people in a fairly small house, and we generally don’t go to bed until quite late. We have a small cage for her right now, but I eventually want to make something bigger when she gets larger, and the best space for that would be in the kitchen.  I’m wondering if light and noise will disrupt her sleep schedule and be bad for her somehow?

I have a 7 week old baby, and she doesn’t seemed to have pooped much since yesterday morning. The first night we had her, she left maybe twenty little poos on her play area rug. That was Sunday night. I havent seen a single poo on the floor since, and while she has pooped in her cage, it’s not really as much as I expect, maybe about seventy or eighty. Should I be worried? She’s energetic, drinking water, has an appetite, and is currently trying to help me type this lol

I’m hoping someone will eventually reply to this. I’ve fed her maybe one stick of celery a day, a baby carrot a day, during the bonding time we’ve been giving her on her play rug. She has had pellet food in her cage constantly, and I bought her alfalfa hay this morning. She’s eaten nearly half of the hay I gave her earlier, been eating pellets, had celery stalk maybe 2 inches long, and drank a decent amount of water. I changed her bedding about three hours ago, and I havent seen a single poop. I’m starting to get a little worried, it seems like she probably pooped a bit last night, but so far, I haven’t found any poop on her play rug, or in our bedroom on the carpet, and I can’t imagine anything is wrong with her, as her behavior hasnt changed at all, she’s still super energetic and happy.

It might be a bit soon for celery and carrots unless she was having it regularly where she came from… I would probably phase those out slowly and if she is accustomed to having greens start slowly introducing good ones like parsley, sweet basil, cilantro etc. Generally baby buns don’t start on leafy greens or veg until they are several months old.
Did she have hay previously or has she just started eating it ? Not having hay will make a huge difference to her poops. Now that she is having hay you should notice and increase in quantity and quality of poop.

Oh yea. She started pooping about four hours ago, and hasn’t stopped since. I finally called the emergency vet, to tell him her symptom, which was the lack of pooping. He was very happy to hear that other than that, she was 100% normal, and told me to keep an eye on her. I also gave her water from a saucer, and discovered the ball in her cage bottle was stuck, about two hours before. The second I got off the phone with the emergency vet, she ate a few cecals out, dropped one single poop, and then hopped away, leaving a trail. It’s continued up until now. She left 20-30 poops on her play rug, and we finally put her back in the cage until it slows down again. It was like following a mobile cocoa puff factory around. The hay and figuring out she wasn’t getting water made all the difference. She’s made up for the not pooping all day, and then some. Thanks for replying

The dehydration would have been the primary cause. I usually have a bottle and a crock that way if one is knocked over or blocked they have back up.

Glad you got to the cause of the problem and she is getting back to normal.

I have just been through stasis with my big silver fox Pascal who is only just getting back to normal and now my angora cross Pipi is having trouble. They will send my to an early grave from stress.

I was terrified. This little fuzz is taking years off my life already. Especially when I found her in her cage, playing dead. I left the room for less than two minutes, and I came back and found her, laying with her legs splayed in the air, eyes rolled back, mouth kinda open. I freaked out, raced to the cage, and she jumped up in an absolutely hissy, looking at me like “how dare you disturb my slumber?” I had a bunny die on me a few years ago, when I knew nothing about bunnies. I was sure I killed her somehow. Between that and the no pooping, I’m surprised I didn’t drop dead today.

Ah yes, the ultimate flop. It’s worse if they are really sound sleepers. Starsky will be bopping about and generally being a fiend then he will just keel over sideways and go completely limp. Then he will get up and do a stretch and yawn when you go into a panic.

She raced around my bedroom for about 15 min at top speed, hopped into her cage for a snack and some water, and flopped right down in her litterbed. And she’s not scared of the hardwood floor, which is cool, but scary. We dobt really have bunny friendly furniture. So, time for super bunny proofing.
