Ever since they wanted it to be perfectly clean, I have literally been cleaning it every three days. But now they have another problem. One person is allergic and now it is a problem having Theo. She was anxious and depressed in the smaller room and it was hard to ever actually interact with her. I could tell by the position of her ears most of the time, how she would react to me when reaching my hand near her, and how she was always aggressive during meal time.

My mom says I have a problem if I put rabbit problems before people problems but I don’t even think my mom or dad care at all. I understand it is my pet and I have already accepted the fact that they can make me keep the cage clean to whatever standard they want, but one person being allergic shouldn’t make us have to go through what she went through again. I even pleaded for them to let me clean every single day totally. It is like they don’t even think they have to sacrifice even a tenth of one thing to give her a happy life here. I am not caring about rabbits more than humans, I am simply not willing to make her life a living hell when there are solutions that can make everyone happy such as using her dog crate again and just vacuuming.

Sorry but it sounds like your parents just want an excuse to get rid of her. If it’s not one problem, it’s another. Which is dispicable. I don’t even understand their “logic”. They want it perfectly clean but won’t let you clean it more often than every 3 days? What kind of nonsense is that?

Not to be mean, but if your parents are this bad with it, and you’ve had so many issues concerning your bun, maybe you should rehome her. It might be the best option for everyone involved. Your bun can get the love and care it really needs without being constantly miserable.

I’m sorry for the issues with your rabbit and your family!

Aside from general issues with keeping your bunny, the reason people are often allergic to rabbits is the hay, not the rabbit fur. Are you using Timmothy hay? Many people have less reactions to orchard or oat hay and they are just as healthy for a rabbit. Could you try switching to one of those to see if the allergies abate?

Sorry, but I have to agree with the others. It sounds like your parents keep coming up with excuses because they want to get rid of her. Before they reach drastic measures, it might be safer for your bunny to rehome her to someone you trust or bring her to a no kill rabbit shelter.

Good news, we have reached a solution.

My dad said she could be in the dog crate when people came over after I begged.

How will that help the person who is supposedly allergic?

Hopefully you don’t mind this sniffable but I had a quick look through your previous posts.

This sounds like more then just this one post. In the past you’ve mentioned you have unrelated issues with your parents as well as going through a bout of depression where you stopped regularly feeding and cleaning your rabbit.

You also had a period when you had to go away on vacation and your brother and parents were happy to let your bunny use an entire room as a bathroom, just to get her to eat more hay. This doesn’t sound like the cold uncaring parents that this initial post sounds like tbh.

I strongly suspect what your parents are saying to you *is* for your own betterment. If they are “forbidding” you to clean everyday, judging from the past posts I think they might suspect it’ll be too much for you. That’s all. Your mom’s comments about people problems coming before rabbit problems, could she have meant in order for you to take the best care of your rabbit, you first need to take the best care of *yourself*?
