I have been neglecting BinkyBunny for quite some time. Being in college makes time management a difficult thing. I pretty much go to school, go to work, play with and take care of my animals, do homework, and semi kind of sleep sometimes maybe.
All of the boys are doing great. Enki is still sick though. He has been through 6 treatments of antibiotics with no change. He has an appointment for Wednesday afternoon to try yet another antibiotic.
Everyone is bonded and loving their new cage. They drove me a little insane at first at night running up and down the ramps but I have gotten used to it. Dini my poor poor Dini has been shaved again. This time it wasn’t due to a neglectful sitter it was from him somehow managing to knock gum out of my little cousins mouth. I chased him all through the house to cut it out but when I found him he had rolled or rubbed against something enough that it was on his face and all down one side of his body. Poor Dini. Lol. But most of his hair is back now just a little lopsided.
Banji is my calm bunny. He is more go with the flow than see how much trouble he can get into. I am not sure if that is because he is blind or he is just like that. He doesn’t tear things up or get into things he shouldn’t. He is perfectly content with his toys and the stuff he is supposed to play with.
I unfortunately do not have any update pictures of the boys on this laptop yet.
One of my ferrets passed away from a horrible horrible accident. He got tangled up in a hammock during the night and was basically hanging there around his midsection. What’s worse is I don’t go into the ferret room until I get out of class because that is usually when they are waking up and want more food and water. I cut him loose as soon as I found him. He had no use of his back legs at all. I immediately called the vet who asked if he would accept food and water (yes) and if he was able to poop (yes). So they told me to keep him still and watch him and if he wasn’t any better to bring him in. I shouldn’t have listened and should have immediately taken him. He started to act better and was able to use his legs after about an hour. He ate some food and drank and even took some treats and climbed on me like normal. I left him to rest in a carrier with a blanket. An hour later I came back and he was covered in blood and barely breathing. I picked him up out of the carrier to take him to the vet and he passed away within 30 seconds. It was truly terrifying and an awful thing to experience.
On a less depressing note I have a new little friend. His name is Ricochet he is a chocolate pinto hedgehog. Crazy hilarious little dude.
This was him checking out his new cage

He walked around with this on his head forever

He is obsessed with his ducky

My cat licked him. He did not appreciate it.

Nope still not coming out

So cute

Oh I’m so sorry about your ferret! How awful and hard to deal with. Rest In Peace little guy.
Thanks for update on the bunnitos Sonn. Seriously, that Dini… He’s one in a million! Hops thru life attracting trouble, that one.
It’s good the boys are together. It prob helps Enki keep more gunk free having some friends to help groom. Do they do that?
Your hedgie is *sigh* Adorable!
They are just the cutest looking things. We don’t get to see them here. I love his name!!
Ricochet was a totally spur of the moment thing. I had one awhile back that was horribly abused and biter. I wasn’t really planning to get a hedgehog because of my experience but I seen him and it was spiky love at first sight. Lol.
Dini is a trouble maker. If he is out and it is quiet I know he is into something he shouldn’t be. Like the gum he was calmly sitting in my cousins lap (warning bells should have went off) and then I seen him up on his hind legs towards the mouth area then my little cousin screams “OH NO!” and he took off with a big glob of gum in his hair. It was awful to have to shave him. Lol.
It took a lot for me to deal with how my ferret died. I still feel guilty since I didn’t find him until after my classes.
And yes it helps Enki a ton that the other boys groom him.
Oh Sonn (((((((((((((Huge hugs)))))))))))))) I am so sorry about your ferret. Run free, little guy. :'(
Dini! Augh! What a pachuco! (Portugee for hoodlum) I don’t know how you keep up. Does he even seem remotely aware that he is a walking caution? Or is this all just a big laugh for him? I have had animals that look to get into mischief just so they can see you get all red in the face (or whatever color they do see) and they’ll have a big old grin on like “neener-neener”…but how do you tell if a bunny is laughing at you? 0_0
Poor guy, the fur trim can’t have been much to giggle about. You’d think he’d learn! (eyeroll)
I’ll send over some healing vibes for poor Enki. It’s so stressful to have a chronically ill bunny…Mimzy still has problems relating to his head tilt and we just can’t keep on top of them. But all said, he still eats and binks and loves to wee all over me if I am getting him out to clean his run. Stinker.
Your hedgy is adorable!
I usually don’t go in for these, but he is just precious! LOVING the “the kitty tried to taste me” pix! xD
I know you’re a busy bee, but I do love seeing posts from you.
I hope you can make some more often and that you finally find that sleep thingy….whatever it is! xD
((((((((((((((((((((((Hugs)))))))))))))))))))) xx
Oh I think he knows that he is a trouble maker. Lol. He is like my ferret Smokie only in bunny form. They know the second no one is paying attention they can just get into anything and everything. Then when you look at them they act like they didn’t do anything. If I ever think of it I will take a video of what Dini does when he is caught. He is deaf so saying no is useless but if I slap the floor he will turn around and I will give him the “no” hand signal and he flops onto the floor he just FLOPS! Like he wasn’t doing anything but laying there! Little stinkface. Lol.
Enki doesn’t seem to notice that he is sick except he is a tiny bit slower than the other buns. He gets out of breath easy due to the stuffy nose. I feel bad hearing him sneeze all of the time.
My hedgehog hates my cat so much. But Popcorn loves to lick him I have no idea why. But Ricochet can see Popcorn in the room and he starts huffing and popping. It’s adorable because he is literally the size of my palm.
Sleep? I don’t think I remember what that is.
It’s nice to hear from you, Sonn. I’m so very sorry to hear about your ferret. Poor little bub. ((((Scamper free little Ferret)))))
I hope you can once and for all get Enki’s illness taken care of. Good luck at your next appointment. (((((Vibes for Enki)))))
Dini getting gum on him made me laugh. What a little character.
Your new little friend is very cute. ![]()
