I took Essie to the vet today. This was our first time going to this vet. I was really impressed by her knowledge in bunnies, how bunnies didn’t seem to be an “add on” service but an actual branch of their business, and how incredible friendly the staff was.

At  first they took a bottom X-ray of Essie’s stomach. At first they thought they saw a huge kidney stone, but they couldn’t be sure. So they kept her a while to do more X-rays and tend to a start of an infection on her stomach. So two hours, a sedative, a visit to Chick Fil A, and a lot of worrying later, I got a call that it wasn’t a stone but an inflammation due to a UTI. The vet was as happy as I was.  I got sent home with a lot of medicine to give my lil bun. (Two with syringes )So now I give her the medicine and wait and see.

The vet even put a “do not disturb” sign on her tote so others would not bother her to coo over her while she recovered from the ordeal. Seems small, but it meant a lot to show she had the bunny’s best interest in mind.

        I’ll post updates.

So glad to hear there are such wonderful bunny vets out there. That kind of extra thoughtfulness speaks volumes.  You and Essie are very fortunate!  Our dog and cat vet of over 15 years is that kind of vet but unfortunately only treats dogs and cats.   I sure I hope I can find one for Panda’s spay.
