I have recently bought two baby bunnies, currently they are 5 and 6 weeks old, but the breeders gave them away 3 and 4 weeks old I know this is not normal, idk what happened to the mothers, one bunny is a lionhead(diamond) which is now 6 weeks and a mini lop (cookie) is now 5 weeks. I have been feeding them alfalfa hay and oxbow young rabbit food, When I got them they were eating two different feeds cookie the mini lop was eating oxbow, and diamond the lionhead was eating regular rabbit pellets. They share a cage, so same litter box and food bowl, so for a while i just mixed the two feeds because its hard for me to control two different bowls, and I slowly started putting more oxbow pellets, now they are both eating oxbow and i made this switch over a matter of 8 days. Is it ok to give them unlimited alfalfa hay and oxbow pellets? And as far as Litter Training there are two litter boxes in the cage,it seemed as if there were two corners in the cage where they frequently use the bathroom, and when I let them out there play area is a nice size so there are two litter boxes in two corners of the play area. There is always every where in the play area and the cage they have been using the litter boxes to poop and pee but they still use the bathroom outside of the litter box I can tell because its on the newspaper but I never catch them in the act. Is this normal for baby rabbits this age? What can I do to better litter train my baby rabbits? and One of the rabbits seems like she always has some type of crust forming at her eyes i took it off once but it came back. PLEASE HELP i have never had pet rabbits before and i want to keep them healthy since they have been taken away from the mother so soon
