I’m wondering if anyone has fed their buns the leaves and stems from tulips?  My sister brought a huge bunch over from her garden (no pesticides used at all) for a mothers day certrepiece and I saved the trimmings….

        thanks guys!

I was just reading the other day about safe plants for buns to eat and I believe they said all plants (including flowers) that come from bulbs are a definite no no as they can be poisonous. So tulips, daffodils, iris, hyacinths etc.

          Anyone else know anything different?

Tulips as well as other bubls plants like hyacinth and daffodils are no-nos and can be toxic, just like many other commonly grown plants and ones used for flower arrangements.  The ASPCA has a really nice comprehensive list here:

Binky Bunny also provides a nice section of web sites for just this type of info under LINKS above:

            Here it is:

            Toxic Plants:

Hope this helps answer your question and with any other potential future ones regarding plants.
