I can’t help much because I go the easy route and get them done at the vets :p But do you have a buddy that can help you? One could hold, one could trim. You could try shining a torch under the nails to see if that makes the quick more visible.

Maybe you could take them to the vets the first time and see how they do it? It can be a bit stressful if you don’t know what you’re doing.

To be honest, I couldn’t cut my bunny’s nails myself. I hold them, and my boyfriend cuts. It’s definitrly a two person job for us. One has white nails, and hers grow much quicker so it’s easy to see where to cut. The black one has black nails and yesterday we cut the quick on one, just taking the tiniest bit off the end, so I think his nails must just grow much slower.

So basically, it depends on the bunny and can be a bit trial and error with black bunnies unfortunately.

There’s a pinned post with nail clipping tips in this forum, and you can find videos on YouTube. You could also try just clipping a nail at a time if she’ll let you touch her feet while she’s lounging. I prefer to just get it over with in one 5 minute session. You can also try wrapping up in a towel and bringing out one paw at a time to clip.
