Hi everyone, my rabbits caught fleas from my cat who got out recently. My cat has been on Revolution since we found fleas on him. I heard Advantage is safe for rabbits so I ordered the kitten one and I saw on medirabbit that it is 3 mg/kg but I have no idea how many mg are in the one tube of Advantage so I’m not sure how much I should apply to my buns. If anyone could help me with this that would be great. I was also wondering if both kitten and small cat are both safe to apply and if the only difference is the dosage (size of each tube per cat) and I would just apply less of the tube if I had gotten the small cat one? I really appreciate any advice and help!

I believe the dosage per weight is the same for cats and rabbits for Advantage, but you might call your vet to double check. How much does your bunny weigh? Usually people get the kitten dosage and just use the whole tube. I used to split a 10 lb adult cat dosage between my 2 bunnies. (one was about 3 lbs, other is 9 lbs).

And yes, the cat and kitten are the same drug, just different amounts.

Revolution is also safe for bunnies. Frontline is NOT, but you prob already know that!

My bunnies are 2, 4, and 6 pounds. I was hoping to just get the small cat one instead so I could also have doses for my cat and just use less of the tube for each bun because it’s the same price for both kitten and small cat advantage with the same amount of tubes, so it seems more worth it. I’ll still call and check with my vet. Do you know how old bunnies have to be to use advantage? Thank you so much for your help!
