Traveling away from my buns!!!

I adopted Milo about three months ago and he’s almost a year old, and I’m traveling away from him for the first time since I got him for a whole week!! He JUST started to act like he really likes me, running circles around my feet and nudging my ankles with his nose to get my attention and waiting by my bed in the morning for me to wake up so he can get head scratches and cheek rubs. He’s staying at a friends house who has two bunnies, but one of the bunnies doesn’t like Milo so he isn’t super thrilled to be there. I’m so worried he’s going to hate me by the time I get back!!! Have any of you guys ever been gone from your bunny that long?

The longest I was ever gone was 8 days. My bunnies were fine. They acted like they didn’t care that I was home but we’re right back to normal the next day.

Is your bunny being kept separate from the friend’s bunnies? If not, I recommend he is. The smells of other bunnies might cause him extra stress.

They are keeping him separate! I’ve gotten a lot of updates today and he seems okay. I wish he could have stayed at home while I’m gone so it wasn’t so much change, but I didn’t have anyone close enough to come and visit enough times for how many days I’d be gone.

Glad to hear he is doing okay. Sometimes what we would like for our buns is not always possible.
