While I was with my birth father my older half sister “borrowed” my rabbit travel bag. When she returned it to our parents it was torn; Maybe shredded is the right word? Basically it’s unusable now.

I’ve been trying to talk my step-father in to letting me get a new travel bag yet he says that it’s not necessary as well as saying that it would be just a waste of money.

I LOVED having that travel bag. Maybe part of it is because my birth father gave it to me. In any case do you think my step father is right?

The vet we go to is about 45 minutes to an hour away. I’ve been hearing recently that you don’t need a travel bag for rabbits unless you’re going 2+ hours away from home.

Ah; Sorry. I started to ramble.

You need something safe and secure for your rabbit when travelling. It doesn’t matter if you’re travelling 20 minutes away or 2 hours. So yes you do need something. You can’t transport a rabbit safely with nothing. A plastic carrier would be much safer than a bag.

Please forgive me. When I wrote this I was very tired so it doesn’t make much sense.

By “rabbit travel bag” I meant a bag that holds Edana and Rigel’s things. Extra towels, water bottle and bowls, food/treats, ect.

You don’t NEED one… But would you really want all your rabbit stuff just floating around in the car, and having to carry all that stuff everywhere?
