In an effort to love on Shadow Bunny more, I like to pick him up to pet him a few times a day, usually after work, but often first thing in the morning, too. Everyone knows that petting an animal is therapeutic! He is a pretty big guy, so I wind up cradling him like a baby, but more upright. He looks at me, twitches his nose, will sometimes close his eyes in what I feel is bliss as I repeated stroked his ears and face (his favorite!) He isn’t still, he’ll move a little, doesn’t jump right out of this position or anything, and he is more upright than prone, really more of just his bottom tucked under. His heart rate is usually changing-not fast to slow, or slow to fast, he’ll just cycle a little faster sometimes , usually if the dog tries to come to get in on the lovin’. (They are buddies, and Shadow antagonizes the dog, so he’s not really scared of him-Shadow will even go try to eat out of Granite’s bowl right under him-bold bunny, I know!) Please tell me that I am not unknowingly trancing my bun… If I hadn’t seen the post on Pinterest, I would never have know about this at all. I love our “lovey” time, but if it’s detrimental to him, I will just continue to lay next to him on the floor to perform his bunny massages. Thanks for any input =:-3
