So Toshi is 1 year & 6 months. We got Yumi as a lady friend about 4 months ago. They hit it off straight away (very lucky) we had separate cages at first. However after a month of Toshi kicking off and trying to pull open Yumi’s cage door at night we tried them together. They have been together ever since! It is adorable to watch them together.
Toshi is a little old man in a bunny body, he loves sleeping, eating and sitting there looking at you (he needs a monocle) haha
However about a month ago maybe 6 weeks now he started grooming himself, obsessively!! I noticed it and thought maybe Yumi wasn’t doing a good enough job hehe however once his fur started to become patchy and he continued to groom himself I got worried. He even falls over sometimes because he has pulled/groomed his fur so much!
There are a couple of bauld patches, no redness the skin looks normal (on the bauld spots) he has short patches of hair growing all over. (I will add as many photos as possible) Yumis fur is fine! I took him to the vets, she said he is healthy, no mites no sore spots. She said its probably stress?!! I don’t know how he could be stressed? He is free roaming 24/7 he has a condo that he shares with Yumi. He eat hay, (I always worry not enough) has burguss pellets, some fresh veggies at night!
I got him some cammomile hay to help calm him? But he is still pulling out fur & sometimes eating it?!
Him and Yumi have never had fights,Yumi is booked in to be spayed after Christmas.
Any help or insight would be great. Thank you & merry Christmas!
