So with Bombur’s chronic incontinence, he sits in his pee a lot. The vet can’t get him in for a tech appointment to shave and bum bath him until March 10th, which seems a little far right now. He has a soaked bum, and he’s actually been in using the litter box for two days with no incontinence. Because his bum is super soaked, he’s getting hay stuck to it. I’m plucking off the pieces as I can, and I’ve been wiping his bum with a wet cloth to get rid of the urine, but it’s not doing a ton. How long is too long to wait for this shave? I really can’t do it myself as he will kick when held, and I really am not able to give enough force on holding him to prevent himself for being hurt. Should I try to reschedule?  Also, is there anything I can use besides a wet rag on his bum?

          Poor little guy

You can use cornstarch to absorb the pee, then comb it out. It works really well!

I never thought of cornstarch. Thanks Dana! I’ll give that a try when I get home tonight. Hubs just had a funny idea to fill one of their old baby litter boxes with cornstarch and entice him with a treat to run and plop his bum in it xD I do feel that would be effective.

Cornstarch works, I can confirm that
