Hi there!
I’m wondering, how far is too far for a car ride with rabbits?
I’ve been vet shopping. There are several animal hospitals about 20 minutes away from my house which could provide emergency care if Betty and Dupree need it. However, there’s a clinic that sounds like they have lots of experience with rabbits (I’m going to call each of these again for more info) about an hour away from my house. The other advantage is that their check-ups are $30 instead of $50 and a spay is only $85 and a neuter is $50. The surgeries especially are a big deal because $300 dollars for a non-emergency would be very difficult to handle. So, I’m just wondering, how hard on my buns would this drive be, obviously if it will stress them out so much they can’t cope with the surgery I can’t do it, but there are literally no other low-income options in my area. I’ve called upwards of 20 organizations, including shelters, nationwide programs and rabbit advocates, as well as vets. This is the first option that is less than 3 hours away that’s under $100 dollars per bun.
Thanks as always for the advice.
