A little update on Toki’s hay situation, for anyone who cares
I posted a while ago that I thought I was feeding too many greens. I decided to cut down on the greens by quite a bit – I now give him about 2 stems of dill, 2 stems of basil, 2 stems of parsley, and 2 stems of cilantro/coriander daily. I also started breaking off the excess of the stems. This amounts to a loose handful about the size of his head. I can safely say that now he is eating a LOT more hay! I have bought him about 9 different hays by now, but didn’t realise that the hay itself wasn’t the problem, so now I have a lot of hay bags to get through!
Now he is pooping a lot more often, in larger quantities, and they’re all normal size! I really can’t believe it was such a simple solution all along – I was so worried for the past two weeks. So to anyone who is struggling with their bun not eating hay, maybe the culprit is the greens
