So my holland lop bunny Ninja, who is three months old, has been going through some weirdest problem ever. I currently feed him Sherwood Forest pellets, about 1/2 cup a day. I basically just refill the bowl when it is out, and he eats around 1/2 cup a day. Ninja is not the greatest hay eater, he would only munch on a little bit of hay throughout the day. The hay i use is a mixture of Oxbow Botanical and SPS 2nd cutting timothy. This is the background story.
Today, when i put fresh hay into Ninja’s hay feeder, he was very intrigued by the fresh smell and started munching on them for a while. Then I found, so surprisedly, his dropping became so tiny!!! I was certain it resulted from the hay eating, because he ran out pellets at the time it happened. It seems to happen every time he eats hay, but he poops perfectly when he eats the Sherwood pellets. I am so confused by this and i always thought hay is the best thing for bunny’s digestion.
I am beyond confusion and desperation right now. If anyone has been experiencing something like this or knows whats going on, please let me know. I would appreciate it very much!!
