Hi everyone, my vet is on vacation and I have to wait a week until they are back.
Two days ago I noticed a small round bald spot on my bunnies back paw. I have gone down a rabbit hole (so to speak) online
And have convinced myself there could be something wrong (mites or sore hocks). He is a free roaming rabbit and his nails were a bit long the last time I cut them (which was two weeks ago). Would you mind lookin at the picture and let me know your thoughts please. Thank you!

I could not find a picture attached unfortunately. If you have one, you can edit your post, upload it, then once it appears under your attachments, you need to click insert image so it appears in your post. A confusing system, yes.

If the spot is on the bottom of the foot, it can well be sore hocks.

Are you noticing any bleeding, swelling, or irritation in that area?

Autumn, my Miniature Rex has had bald hocks for years now. Unfortunately it is very common with indoor Rabbits. If it stays skin coloured or slightly pink it is the hock adapting to new substrate (carpet, wood, tile, etc) and will eventually harden to form a protective callous. if the bold spot becomes dark pink, red, inflamed and at worst develops lesions this is sore hocks and will require treatment depending on the severity.

Thank you both for getting back to me. I was scared it could be mites. I’ll keep a close eye on it. My bunny is a three year old holland lop and he has never had fur loss or a sore hock before so was worried. Is there anything I should put on it in the mean time?

Looks like a callus to me.

That looks perfectly normal. Most bunnies have less fur there and some have a pinkish callous. Just monitor for swelling, redness, cracking or bleeding which are signs of sore hocks.
