  I just noticed this article on CNN.com. How horrible! We thought Easter rabbit sales were bad, but it sounds like things in China are much much worse.

  Seriously? Sending rabbits in the mail? Are people really that stupid? What kind of person would do that or order a live animal through the internet? What kind of world is this that there are no laws against this? Asia really needs to improve their laws regarding animals.
  
  And did you read the comments? Most of them made me so mad because they are just making a big joke out of it. Those poor little souls. I hate reading stuff like this and not be able to do anything.
  
  The bunny in the pic is so cute and the guy holding him looks pretty sinister to me. What will happen to all these bunnies that do survive the trip after New Years?

  Some of the comments were just as racist as they were cruel to animals. People are idiots.
  
  I also don’t understand how someone could think it was a good idea to send a live mammal through the mail in a box.

  That’s really sad. I’m certain it’s an issue of education and the real person to blame is the shipper.
  
  Also, do you think that people are going to order dragons if it’s the year of the dragon, or a tiger if it’s the year of the tiger….

  Well unfortunetly for rabbits they can be bought and kept (badly) cheap. I don’t think most people could afford tigers.

  This is disgusting and disturbing to me.
  
  Chinese New Year is a tradition and pretty cool. I, myself don’t celebrate it, but I am happy that I am a rabbit – however it makes me digusted thinking about how people are making a business of shipping rabbits of to make a few yuan. I don’t even want to know their intentions, it just makes me want to give them a swift kick in the head.
  
  I’m not a big fan of PETA, but I’m sure as hell glad they are stepping in! I hope the message gets passed on around the world.
  
  I was in the International District this past week with a friend and I got the free Asian newspapers printed in English. There is going to be a New Year celebration in February of course, but it caught my eye when there was an advertisement about a pet rabbit competition. I don’t know how to feel about that.

  This is a sick sick cruel world these poor creatures have to live in! Just awful!
  
  you know what I would do?! I would cram all the creeps that ordered the bunnies and the ones selling them in a box punch a single hole in it leave them there fives days in a large tumbler where they could get slammed around all day and night like those poor babys had to go through! but thats just me!
