My bun Chaos had conjunctivitis about 2 weeks ago. We treated it with antibiotic eye drops and also got his teeth filed and ducts flushed. I’ve just noticed pus coming back out of his eyes, so I’ve took him out of his cage to clean them and put the eye drops on until I can get him to the vets. I’ve noticed that his third eyelid has black dots on them, I never noticed it when was cleaning his eyes last. He doesn’t seem to be in pain (hes on metacam for arthritis) and is eating/going to the loo fine. I cant get him to a vet at the moment, I will get him in first thing in the morning. Is there anything I should be concerned about? Or could it just be something irritating his eye causing the dots? 2 days before he developed conjunctivitis 2 weeks ago I lined his cage with a vet bed (I washed it before use) but have noticed small pieces of hay get stuck in the fibres. I clean it several times a day

Black dots? Hmm, I don’t know what that would be. Maybe blood vessels?

I’m not sure. They don’t look like blood vessels, there’s no lines or anything connecting them and there’s no pattern to the dots, like in a line or anything. They’re spread out randomly on the eyelid. The whites of his eyes are bloodshot so not sure if it’s just whatever’s causing his eyes inflammation going into the third eyelid aswell or if it’s something different.

I was just thinking back to when Wooly was young and he tore his third eyelid. He had a single dark spot and the vet thought it was broken blood vessels (capillaries).
