        Hi all,
I’m a new bunny mom so any advice is greatly appreciated. I’ve had my two bunnies for over a month now and just noticed that one is developing a bit of a bald spot. It’s on my feisty girl so it’s hard for me to get a really good feel, but I did notice a little bump where the spot is (between her ears, on forehead). Her nails are a bit long so I’m wondering if she’s been hurting herself while grooming. We managed to clip 4 of her front paw nails yesterday before she wiggled free and hid so hoping that will help/stop the thinning. Anyone know what could be causing it?

She doesn’t seem bothered by it. And she gets along with her sister so I don’t think she’s being hurt by the other (besides the occasional humping). As I mentioned I’ve had them for a little over a month and planned to have a vet visit soon to talk about neutering. If she doesn’t show signs of improvement, I will be taking her in sooner.

It’s hard to say what it could be, there are so many options. A small growth or lump is a possibility. A bug bite, scratch from her nails as you mentioned. It’s even possible that her sister could be over grooming her in that location and causing some localised irritation and balding. Another option is that she could be rubbing her head on something, such as if she is pushing her face between cage bars and it’s rubbing between her ears when she does so.
