  My rabbit is doing the same. I still have to post her photoshoot images (the ones without me in the photo).

  @ Rabbitpam no they did not and I emailed them because it said I gave permission for them to use the bunny if you win the contest and she didnt win so I don’t know why they went and used the photo. i don’t care they used it but i didnt sign a release.

  That’s what I was guessing. My former boss (at a non-profit) lived by the policy “do it now, and ask for forgiveness later” when pressing the boundaries of rights. You may not want to haggle over a usage fee, but it does serve as a gentle reminder that they can’t just get away with it. They are a for-profit magazine, not a rescue, and should know better. It may make them do the right thing (get a release signed, or a single use permission agreement) in the future. Other magazines pay photographers to use images. Contests are a cheap and easy way around that, and sometimes it just bugs me. Reprinting images on the web is a very grey area right now, but use in an ad is clear. What did the first prize winner get? They could have used that one. (But I know you love seeing your gorgeous girl – who should have won – in the ad.)

  Did you tell them she is not a real rabbit, just a very animated bunny shaped slipper? LOL! She is so pretty! I should think about putting Momo in photo contests.
