*UPDATE* :
He’s Here! He has been with us for almost a month now. It is so fun getting to know him. We decided that since our son was the one that had the dream we let him name the bunny. He decided that in honor of his mother he named the bunny Emmitt. Emmittt soon decided that our son was his favorite person. My kiddo has been taking Emmitt into his room when he plays or reads. I find that at times I get very choked up that my son and Emma’s son are becoming such good pals. I am going to try and add a picture of him.
I am going to try not to make too many typeos. I am shaking so bad right now from excitement. In April 2013 we adopted a mini rex named Emma. She and her son had been rescued by a local agency due to “too many animals.” She became my partner in therapy and rabbit agility. About a month ago she died. I posted about it in the Rainbow Bridge section. Soon after she died I started thinking about her son and wondering what ever happened to him. I composed several letter in my head that I wanted to send to the rescue letting them know that if he ever came back to them we would take him in a heartbeat. I never did send them. It was just too painful to sit down and type it out.
Last week, my son was getting ready for school and told me that he had a dream about Emma. He said she had come to him and brought her babies. She wanted to show him her babies. She wanted him to take care of them. That same day my husband told me that at work he kept seeing her little nose twitch every time he closed his eyes. The next night, I was looking at the rescue sight and there he was, Emma’s baby! I just got off the phone with his foster and we are going to see him on Sunday! I can’t believe that I am going to have the chance to care for my sweet Emma’s baby. This is going to be a very long weekend. my husband wants to keep it a surprise for our son. I don’t know if I can make it. I want to jump up and down for joy and cry at the same time. Since this is in no way part of my personality in everyday life my kid would know that something was up.
I’ll keep you posted as the story continues.
