Isn’t that what I like to say? ”I need another rabbit like a hole in the head”…. ![]()
so… How about TWO more holes in the head LOL… Hey they are tiny, so really only .5 each, making only one when added together… That’s my excuse/story.
I’m not adopting two bunnies, but for the winter I am taking in two of our shelters bun’s. Each had been ill earlier and needed medical attention so our Shelter co-ordinator took them home, then yesterday she ended up having to take a new sick bunny in, she now has something like 25 shelter bunnies in her small townhome
Though the two bunnies are not sick anymore, it’s so cold at the shelter and warm in the home they have been staying we don’t want to put their little bodies through the shock of temp. changes so suddenly. So I have offered to take these two for the winter, giving the Shelter Co-Ordinator a little more room and less mouths to feed. So once it warms up they will go back to the shelter with the other bunnies.
The two bunnies I am taking, one is a little dwarf dutch boy I have had a crush on since he came to us. His name is Buddy, he’s grey with dutch markings, and grey eyes. I nick-named him football because he is so fat and round :p The other is a little lionhead female who’s a REW i believe, her name is Puff, they’ve been bonded during their stay, and at the shelter they both live in the same free-run with many other rabbits.
I’m not really telling anyone… but you guys LOL… I don’t need people to think I am crazier then i really am :p
And don’t worry, I will post pictures as soon as I get them
… looks like I pick them up X-mas Eve ![]()
Can’t wait to see them!
Oh a bonded duo grey and REW fuzzy lionhead! They must be too cute to look at! Pictures!? Please?
25 shelter bunnies in one person’s home?? 0_o; How in the world does she manage??
D’aww…they sound absolutely adorable! ^_^ I like how you nicknamed the dutch “Football”…lol.
What fun! ^_^ That’s going to make for a busy Xmas Eve! ![]()
Grey Dutch! My fave!
Looking forward to seeing them! Kudos for stepping up Andi.
I’m not really telling anyone… but you guys LOL.
Umm…. Hubby? Lol!
Christmas Eve is too long to wait for pics! *whines*
Luckily I remember you’ve mentioned this Football before and a group pic you’ve posted before. ![]()
I’ve been looking for Buddy’s pictures, I know I have to have one somewhere! I call him my shelter boyfriend LOL… hhmm… we don’t even seem to have him on petfinder.
I talked to the hubby first… but the thing is I only mention Buddy and not Puff LOL… b/c at the time I asked I thought I would just be bringing Buddy.

Unfortunately because we are more or less a virtual shelter, most of our (300) rabbits are in peoples homes. I know we’ve had foster families who had up to 50! At one point I think 14 rabbits was the highest number I had here. It’s hard work, and I can’t do it. I have so much respect for those who can help so many animals at one time without any animals suffering (Seen animals hoarders, not pretty).
Pics. Now.
A few of the fosterers for Rabbit Advocates here have 30+ buns in their homes, so I know how hard it can be to add even one extra. The lady who fostered Moose had 35 buns when I got him. It’s hard work, but they do love it ![]()
You are Santa’s helper and are giving your shelter coordinator a gift of help, and the bunnies a gift of a new place to stay, and your hubby a gift of a surprise!
Ho, ho, ho. ![]()
Maybe this will keep the stick pokers at bay while you try find more pictures. ![]()

Ho, ho, ho.![]()
hahahaha…. oohh boy, let’s hope he doesn’t decide to take back my Christmas presents for this one ![]()
He’s actually real good with my animal obcession? Is that what it’s called? lol … He’s the one loving Pitters treating his little belly full LOL, now if I can get just him to help clean up after them…. hhmmm maybe that’s asking a little much :p
FOOTBALL! Yeay, yes that’s him! I wonder where I had that picture uploaded to, i wasn’t able to find one anywhere last night. Buddy isn’t real snuggly, affectionet but he is just so darn round and cute :p I belive puff is the same size, with a nice mane. Honeslt we have like 5 little white Lionheads, so I am not sure who’s who. We haev a TINY black male Lionhead who has to be the super cutest I’ve ever seen. He’s smaller then Pitters.
I loved another little grey like him named Alf, Alf was all grey with grey eyes. He was adopted ![]()
OMG OMG that little dutch I love him he looks like the on that was in the pet store here. I nicknamed him crescent for the crescent moon shape white marking like your dutch has. I couldn’t take him though boo hooo.
My friend is a foster she had 17 at one time plus her pet rabbits. I should call her. Wow that is a lot. 17 much less 50
I give you people a lot of credit. I really do. 2 is my limit after learning the hard way over n over. ONly cuz of lack of space though.
God bless y’all and make you able to keep it going
DO I SPOT A BLACK OTTER?

Monkeybun, I’m stealing a stick. *stands armed*
Brittany, you would flip at our shelter, we probably have 6 or more “Otter” / “Silver Matren” types.
*starts running from sticks*
*BUMP*
“We want Buddy and Puff! We want Buddy and Puff!”
*poke poke poke*
hahahaha…. I was hoping we’d forgotten.
I’ve not taken any pictures 1) My rabbit room is a disaster, no time to clean over X-mas, 2) Puff has a runny nose, and keeps getting poop on her, we’ve already had a bum bath and she’d only been with me a few days 3) I keep forgetting my camera.
But i guarantee, they are REALLY cute LOL…. hahaha
I found out the morning i was to pick them up Puff had had two Seizures, this poor bunny can’t seem to get a break.
April she was rushed to the ER for gurgly breathing – she had a course of Chor Palm. Then she had a blockage for a few days, so Cisapride, Metacam, forcefeeding. In May she was back to the sneezing, messy nose etc. , prescription for Azithromycin. She went back to shelter end of May.
She’s got a messy nose again, and ended back up at the Shelter Coordinators on Baytril. December was the seizure.
I have noted and asked about her peeing issues, apparently she’s always been that was and was nicknamed Mrs.Peebody. She doesn’t use a litter box, though has no problem getting in and out of one. I had noticed the back right leg sticking out as she sat, she always leans onto the left one and tucks it under her when she sits, which is almost everytime she stops moving. It’s a bit hard to tell how close to the ground she is sicne she is so fluffy, don’t know where fur ends and bunny starts LOL.
The leg was noted by the Coordinator as well, she’d thought it may have been a sprain.
So far i’m kind of guessing a back-end mobility issue (sitting a lot, in her own urine/feces, what looks like uncontrolable urination, sits on left leg etc.), I’m watching her a lot, and then just taking notes so i have information to give my Vet when we go for a visit.
Puff is a nice bunny, a bit of a grunter. Buddy however is cauing me concern…. he’s so darn cute i don’t know how I am going to get him go LOL… I’ve joked for a year now about how I would take him home… and now i have him. he’s So much friendlier in the house, begging for pets and treats, he was never like that at the shelter, he was nice but not as friendly. Yesterday he was racing around the free run area binking away like a mad man LOL…. if only he was a girl and could make Pitters fall in love with him LOL… they’d make a cute couple.
2 boys can get along just fine ![]()
hehehe… I have a bonded boy pair, and Pitters did live with Kyoto. I think it’s more he’s just picky on who’d going to be his bunny friend. He’s only ever loved 1 bunny, Mittens. I’m also not sure Buddy is litter trained, and that just won’t work out….. hang on a minutes i shouldn’t even be THINKING these things LOL… i don’t need anymore bunnies!
*twiddles thumbs*
Edit to Add: I hope Puff’s treatment help her out. Poor lil one. (((vibes)))
