The foster boys digs (updated pic)

OK.  I’m trying to keep busy today.  So I’ve been cleaning and getting ready for our new foster boy to come tomorrow night.  So they each have 3 totes which you can see on top of my dryer.  One for hay, one for pellets and one for the wood pellet bedding.

So here’s Rhinelander’s area.  He has the laundry room and free run of the downstairs during the day.  Right now it is lined with my 100% cotton rugs since he still won’t touch my floor.  Then I have an old sheet folded up long and skinny so he can run to the living room and back.  I’m going to be getting an old area rug from my mom tomorrow and will cut it in half.  That way I can get my rugs back!  lol

This will be Horton’s area. He is a Hotot.   He will be in my bedroom and free run of it during the day.  He was not doing well being caged at the shelter so they asked if I could take him in.  So his pen is about 3’x4′.  It’s not completely finished yet.  I am waiting to get the rug from my mom.  The other half will on top of 1/4″ plywood under the pen.

LOVE the spaces you have for your buns. One suggestions is to add another grid on top or put a sheet over the top because even if they don’t jump at firsst they might jump out when they get more used to being there.

oh gosh, Rhinelander is SUCH a cool looking bunny. Not just totally cute, but so neat looking. He’s a designer bun!

Lizzie, Yeah, he’s pretty incredible. So is his personality. I don’t know why someone hasn’t wanted him yet.

yeah most of the time the little ones are the jumpers. How big is he?

Not sure, I haven’t met him yet! I know Hotots are pretty small though.

They are absolutely precious! If I were back in the midwest I would totally adopt Rhinelander to be Opal’s Husbun! What cuties!

Definitely put a ceiling/roof on the cage.  My totally laidback, lazy-butt, loves to flop and nap bun didn’t have a ceiling on his pen for 4 months.. then one night he randomly decided to jump out!  Good thing he did it while I was home!

I now have an old bedsheet tied to the top of his pen as a sort of “canopy”.  He could still probably get out if he REALLY wanted, as he’s a rather strong bun, but the visual of the canopy seems to be enough.

Amy, I may need to steal your idea of the cage when I move into an apartment. How do you open the gridded door to let him out? Just curious

It doesn’t have a door. I just clip a corner together with 1″ spring clamps and open the front of it for him to come out.
