Today as I was looking at Lucy, I began to think about the first bunny I ever owned. His name was Cheeto and I only had him for a year. I got him from my friend’s cousin, when I was in the 8th grade, who paid no attention to him and had him living in a hutch outdoors. He was a really sweet and cute rabbit, and I had him living in a giant wire dog crate. I didn’t really know much about rabbit care when I had him, but I think I did a pretty good job. Unfortunately I was living with my father at the time and he’s a tad OCD about things, so all the typical bunny messes drove him insane. Eventually my dad ended up giving him away to his girlfriend’s coworker. It was really sad giving him up, and I think he’s still alive and happy (I would hope). He’s probably a little old man by now (7-9). I would actually want to take him back if I could. *sigh* I think I’m actually going to ask my dad about him the next time I see him.

So I dug up some pictures that I found on Myspace earlier (yeah somehow I managed to figure out my old myspace password and email), and decided to share!

I thought it would be a cool idea for other people to share the first bun they ever had and how they got them, etc etc.

Introducing Cheeto! (I would also like to say that I didn’t name him, my friend’s cousin did and I just never renamed him)

Sorry these pictures are kinda bad, I could only find 7 pictures in total and the other ones had my dorky 8th grade face in them.

This is the first time I’ve had buns but I do remember growing up I’ve always, ALWAYS begged my mom to let me have a rabbit. I mean year after year. Every Christmas, Easter, and birthday I’d just ask for a rabbit lol but I sadly never got one.

Until Christmas 2012 my husband surprised me with a rabbit! Took long enough to get my rabbit!

Aww, what I sweet little bun! He’s so cute! =)

I know the feeling. When I was a kid, I had a bunny. I came home one day and she was gone. My mom didn’t want her anymore and she was given to one of my dad’s co-workers. I had no idea of the plot until I came home from school to find her cage gone and the carpet freshly vacuumed.

My “First” rabbit(s) were two unknown breeds, I was probably, 5-ish when we had them. I vaguely remember them, but they kept them outside, and there was always a huge pile of poo under their pen (I don’t know why I remember that part the most.) but I remember one day my parents said they both died, and I ended up blaming it on my sister (When in actuality, something just probably ended up spooking them.) Their names were “Mopsy” and “Flopsy” and I named them, but I could never tell the difference so their names were interchangeable. My actual first rabbit, that I was allowed to care for, was Simba. We only had him for a year, before he passed away, and the people who sold him to us said he was a baby, like only three months or so old, but now that I look back, I think he was probably over a year old, he never really grew any, and he was REALLY laid back, and all trained and everything… But here’s a photo of him:

The third pic of Cheeto is adorable. The name Cheeto came up when I was thinking of bunny names lol. I like it.

Cheddar, the only thing I don’t like about the name is the fact that the girl I got him from had another bunny, who died, named Dorito and I thought it was just so silly/weird to name them Cheeto and Dorito.

Oh he’s adorable and look very relaxed. : ) I think i’d be curious about him now too but also nervous about finding out how he is or if he’d passed away.

BunnyDaddy, I just love this picture of Simba. Could he have been any cuter?!!!!

I want to look back at old photos to see the childhood rabbits. I know my older siblings had some but I don’t remember them. I do know they were outdoors and likely didnt live long with myxi a big risk.
