Thank goodness…Happy Hours at Starbucks is OVER!

We named it something else…Cr***y hour, etc.  Over 400 fraps made today in 2 hours. I was seriously in a daze after it was over. I was exhausted, almost had a meal break violation from standing in drive thru for 4.5 hours with no break. My boss never did give me my 2nd 10min break. Oh well. I didn’t even bother asking, I feel lazy when I ask for my breaks. Seriously, it’s been a week long nightmare. Starbucks really better not do this cra** again or I will quit. It was insane, people in line out into the parking lot and out the door. We have 2 blenders. 2.   …2 ………………This was really one of the worst days of work ever. My body aches, my feet burn and my poor toe is being stupid and deciding to just let my nail fall off. I only had 1 angry person though thank GOD when the line in drive thru took 30min from menu to window because we had so many customers in house. I am really scared starbucks might do this happy hour more often…I really hope not because it was just too insane. We had our normal staff numbers and still making a little over minimum wage. So not worth it. Seriously over 400 in 2 hours..CRAZY.  I just broke the ice when people came to the window and asked them not to kill me – it got them into a chuckle so no one was too upset. . I think I should look for another job just incase because if they don’t pay us more in those 2 hours or get more staff….not gonna happen.

Ya know, I wish retail workers were paid more.
Makes the two of us.
My friend/fellow coworker and I are on the down low at work and looking for jobs together. We even filled out apps today while at the register. Our boss is never around.

My job is awfully UNDERstaffed. Unfortunately, my workplace is located in a mall that is not so busy except for weekends. I guess the store isn’t making so much so that is the ‘reason why nobody else is hired.’

I heard about the Starbucks frap thing also.. dang

It’s been so CRAZY ahhh!! You work at Diaso right – I don’t know how to spell it right. I have one about 5min from me. When I was in Hawaii my grandparents always shopped there. I always loved buying those leeche jelly things! I can’t find them here in California anymore so I always bought like 20 bags when I was in Hawaii over the summer lol. Retail does suck.

The company stinks :-/ Hopefully I can find something else. The Vets 4 Less fell through. I called back a few days later and the receptionist was truly rude. I have a friend who has a friend that used to work at Vets 4 Less and she said the place is horrible and unsanitary

zomg….Lychee are to DIE FOR! Sorry the vet job fell through. Hopefully we can both find something soon! I would be in heaven working at an aquarium shop.

Jeez…Starbucks is crazy enough from the customer side on a normal day…couldn’t imagine this kind of crush on an employee….
You have my sympathies, Lin…and my congratulations that you survived! ^_^

Luckily most of the people understood we were super busy. Seriously I can’t believe out of the 15min-30min wait in drive-thru per customer that only ONE person asked for the manager. I wanted to tell her she was busy making 50+ fraps at the moment and that talking to her would affect the people in line behind her but I could tell she was too stuck up to care. Her little world was shattered when I only had a REGULAR coffee cake for her instead of the reduced fat and that since it was 5:10 when she came up to the menu I couldn’t give her 50% off. *OCEANS OF TEARS* My manager just gave her the pastry and drink for FREE. So unlike her – but she had to get back to the 20 foot line of empty cups to fill and blend.
