territorial poops!

Any advice on how to discourage territorial pooping? Bun was perfectly litter trained, but when we had a stranger in the house he started pooping either ON me or right next to me (yuck!) Bun has since been fixed but im still getting some territorial pooping, any tips to prevent this?

How long has it been going on for? Are you sure it isn’t just random droppings? Is it tapering off? I wonder if it will kind-of resolve itself with a little “tincture of time”. Not sure there’s a lot you can do about it

It seems territorial, its been going on for about 3 weeks and he got fixed about 2 weeks ago, he only does it on me or on my seat of the couch which is what makes me think he is marking his space. It had been tapering off till last night, we will see, hopefully time will help

I tell him no when i catch him, and move him away, but i also don’t want to discourage snuggling, he is such a snuggly boy! (Which i love!) he is 4 months now.

Just put a towel down and wait it out. They say 4-6 weeks before the hormones are totally out of their system. On rare occassions, rabbits have become aggressive after neutering. Again, it’s RARE. I’m just saying to be happy he’s a snuggle bun, don’t do anything to “teach” him not to poop and I bet he’ll be just fine.

Pumpkin went through this when she was single bun. She would constantly jump on the couch, get comfy, and leave about 20 poops behind. We eventually quit letting her on the couch and it stopped. Now she comes on the couch with no pooping problems………………then enter Rocky. They went through a couple months of territorial pooping. It finally stopped now that they are free roam. I don’t really have any advice, but it might go away on it’s own!

alright, it seems ill just have to wait it out, i haven’t had anymore incidence since then anyway so here’s hoping!

Hey steph! We got Henry as a baby and I only found BB when I was researching WHY the poop and SPRAYING! (I can tell you some shocking spraying stories, haha!). One night, the hubby got up early for work and found that Henry pooped all over the bed and I was sleeping under it – he had to remove the comforter and put a blanket on me – good grief!

When I found out we could/should have him neutered we did! And even though he still dropped a few we never discouraged him from our bed. It took about 4-6 weeks for him to stop on his own (thankfully!) and now going on 2 years later, we rarely see a loose poop floating around the house with his toilet being in the dining/family room – this from a bunny that lays on our bed and sleeps under it in another room from his toilet.
I wouldn’t go crook at him – just let his hormones work it out first…..

And if ever you feel mortified??? Speak to me and I’ll share some of those spraying stories with you – then you’ll know what mortified is!
