I have two female Holland lops came to me at five weeks. They are now three months old. I had them let her trained now they seem like they’re not they’re pooping everywhere and sometimes pee. They have their own room plus half the house they have an under bed storage container for litter Which I put pine pellets and soft litter like clean fresh. I would like to get them spayed however I have three more months. I’ve tried containing them in a small area and I’ve expanded out. I’m becoming quite frustrated since my whole time is spent cleaning up. I see other posts that are similar, but I haven’t noticed anything that’s actually worked. Please help if you can anyone who remembers me my poor Loki passed away. These girls came quite early. I did not know until they arrived that they were only five weeks old.

Hi Sarah, I remember Loki. I’m sorry to hear he passed. 🙁

Yeah, so, these new babies are juuuuuust starting to reach bunny puberty. This means things are probably going to get worse before they get better. The pooping and peeing is very likely territorial. The best you can do is put stuff down that is easy to clean. Fleece, reusable pee pads, whelping mats, etc. Their litter habits probably won’t improve until after they are spayed and everything is settled.

Also… are you positive they are both girls? I only ask because you got them when they were very young and, well, sometimes it’s hard to tell with the tiny bits.

Hey, thanks for replying. Yes, Loki was he was different. Yes, I am sure they are both female. I took them to the vet two weeks ago and they were both confirmed female. I agree with the territorial they’re not dumping poops there hopping and dropping. lol   The pee that’s new I put out another litter again since they just want to be near me and not fair to keep them in there room away from me.  Their names are Pearl & Pebble.  They are the only rabbits I know that do not use a hideout of any kind, except maybe under the dining room table. lol

“Hopping and dropping” lol! I love that!

I agree with LBJ, it sounds like the best bet is just going to be damage control until they are old enough to get spayed.

I’ve had good luck with washable pee pads in bunny pens before. Maybe if you notice them favoring particular areas, try some of those (or something similar) there to protect the floor.

              Ahhhhh, bunny puberty! Lol!

Aww, Pearl and Pebble. That’s cute!

The good news about them sprinkling poops everywhere is that they are pretty easy to clean up. I would still try to restrict their freedom though, just for your own sanity. If they want to be near you, can you just block off some areas you don’t want them to have access to? Then strategically use washable pee pads or similar.

Hey!  Thanks all for replying.  I have another litter box behind my chair in the dining room.  Most days just me around so….. the hall that has a runner and their bedroom.  Pee pads are place in certain places.  Wash the floors every couple of days with water/vinegar rest of time spray bottle with water/vinegar.  Maybe I’m just whining.  I don’t take it out on them but some days I feel like it.  Otherwise I’m lucky they play with their toys and does not destroy yet.  Lol
