So I started off putting them in the tub but they started biting each other right away so I moved them into a laundry basket on the dryer. They just sort of ignored each other for the first 15 min but then the last 5 min they started nippin at each other a little. So I guess we will continue to the dryer thing until that works out before we try the tub again.  I did snap a couple pics that made it look like they actually liked each other!!  All in all I consider it a success no major drama!!

Oh, they are both wanting the be the dominant bunny according to the last photo. I am the boss, you groom me…No I am the boss, you groom ME.  You can try the ‘ol banana on the head” trick.  Smush a little banana on each others head, and sometimes this can fool them into grooming each other.  If it makes them more feisty, then they may see it as “oh banana!….it’s mine, stay away!” and then nipping can happen.  You’ll have to be the judge on if this helps or hurts the situation.

Since they seem to get a little feisty after about 10 minutes, then for the first few sessions make only 10 minutes. And just pet them and try and leave it on a positive note if possible.

So the last 3 sessions have gone the exact same. Tempe is nervous and does not really move much in the basket. Tonks crawls around checking everything out. They mostly ignore each other and Tonks tries to nip a few times until I intervene. (not attacking just a few nips but I stop her before she does) I tried the banna thing and Tempe would not even move her head up to even attempt to lick it and Tonks licked a little bit followed by trying to nip! They are not attacking each other and fow a few moments Tonks snuggles next to her so I always end it on that good note so that is good. I guess I’ll just keep doing the same until Tonks gets less nippy!! I can tell she wants Tempe to groom her but Tempe is just not ready!

Just when I thought the last few sessions went well!! Guess I’ll try again tomorrow nite!

Uh oh. If one situation seems to just give the same negative results, you may need to try a different method otherwise they will just associate the basket and dryer with fighting. Can you do stress bonding via car rides?

Sounds good! I know it can be stressful and sometimes you just need some time off to get yourself all settled. Good Luck!
