I had a dog who had separation anxiety and would absolutely destroy my home if I was not home. So I had to kennel train her and as I got her as an adult dog with no previous training it was a pretty long hard road. But there was no separation anxiety if I was there.
it doesn’t seem like it would separation anxiety since you are right there when it’s happened. If I remember correctly he was digging in your bed and scratched your husband and now its the hair thing.
Tangling in your hair itself may of caused a panic. I have very long hair and if an animal manages to get wrapped up in it it can cause panic which is scary, hair can actually be quite dangerous with small animals, if a small piece wraps tightly around a limb. If you can imagine, a friend of mines bird managed to get a long piece of her hair wrapped around his tongue. I’m not sure who panicked more, the humans or the bird, but it was a horrible stressful event.
In BunBun’s case, hopefully a lot of what is driving him is hormonal so if you have to change the routine you are most comfortable with it probably won’t be forever, just long enough for a neuter and then the hormones to subside.
