Hello there! This is my first time taking my bun to the vet and I don’t know what to bring or what to do so he doesn’t get scared of being in the carrier.

Make sure the carrier is small enough so that he can’t get thrown around in it too much if the car jerks, but big enough that he can fully stretch out comfortably in it. I always line my carrier with a pee pad, put some hay on top of it and sprinkle some pellets. Bunnies don’t tend to drink in a car because it’s too shaky so if it’s a short trip to the vet I’d leave the water out. You can also put something familiar in the carrier, like a small toy that he usually plays (if any), so that he doesn’t feel like everything is foreign.

I always leave Kurotta’s carrier on the floor in the bunny room even when I’m not using it, occasionally putting some pellets inside so he’d hop inside to munch on them. This helps them associate the carrier with something positive so they don’t become apprehensive when it’s actually time to put them inside for vet trips and such.
