Let me first say, I don’t feed my rabbits pellets too often. If I run out and am not loaded with cash, I will wait until I do. This being said, I feed them fresh veggies and unlimited orchard grass and timothy hay.
Anyways, my mom surprised me and bought me some pellets since she knew I wasn’t going to buy them more for a little. However, she bought a type of Oxbow pellets I have never seen before. It is called Garden Select Adult Rabbit Food. I usually buy them simply the Essentials Adult Rabbit Food. I am completely out of the original pellets that I normally feed them and my mom can’t really return it because she lost the receipt and she can’t exchange in store because they don’t have the one I usually use.
Would it be that bad if I didn’t properly introduce the new food? If anything this food looks easier on the stomach because the first 4 ingredients is Timothy Grass, Oat Grass, Orchard Grass, and Oat Hulls. While the other food I fed them only had Timothy Grass (well in the first 5-6 ingredients at least.
The other option is to just wait until I can the usual pellets but I’m not sure when I will be able to.
P.S. I know that pellets aren’t really that expensive, I’m trying to save enough money for my college books for fall and I really am not supposed cut into it. Also I committed to donating school supplies to younger students with my birthday money.
P.S.S. Just because I put charity and school before my rabbit’s pellets doesn’t mean I don’t love them. I believe pellets aren’t really needed, it’s a luxury. I put school and charity before any other expense my rabbit’s cost me.
