As some of you know I have recently got a new bunny (in the process of naming her so for now we call her Bun Bun or Chaco). Her old owners gave me all of her supplies including the pellets they fed her. I have been trying to switch her over to Oxbow Adult Rabbit Food because her old pellets had corn and probably a whole bunch of other bad stuff in them (yuck). It isn’t a pellet mix but you can see the corn chunks baked into the pellet if that makes sense. Sadly, she does not like the Oxbow food. She picks out all of the old pellets and only eats those. Today I only gave her only Oxbow to see if she would eat it and I saw her eat 1 piece.
Mocha and Lulu are on a Pellet Free diet. Lulu gets bladder infections from eating pellets (she was pellet free for 1 year when I decided to give them 1 tablespoon per week for a fun treat and more nutrients and she got another bladder infection.). Normally I feed Mocha and Lulu their salad and quickly give Bun Bun her pellets. Today I ended up dumping them all over the floor and had to quickly vacuum them up before Lulu ate any. Then Lulu found me in the closet preparing the pellets and she was determined to get some but I held her back. I would love to just have Bun Bun on a pellet free diet as once she is bonded with Mocha and Lulu I want her to be pellet free anyways. Do you think it would be ok to just slowly take her off the pellets and have her pellet free? She is very good with eating her veggies and I am sure she would love to have 2 salads a day instead of 1. The vet has told me to have Mocha and Lulu pellet free but I have not asked about Bun Bun.
