Tomorrow will be Ebony’s operation, I asked them when should I pick her up, they said when she wakes up or about 1 hour from the time I dropped her off, to me that seems to to be quite soon after surgery. what do you all think?

I had Lily done at the Rabbit Shop … I actually watched the whole procedure and waited till she was right to go home.  Probably did take an hour.  They will more than likely give you meds to take home to administer to Ebony.

          Hope all goes well  ….

          Dawn xx

Thanks Dawn, I will have to see if I can stay and watch as it would be very interesting to see. I noticed Ebony has been scratching her ears and now she has little cuts on the inside so I will get the vet to look at that also.

that does seem quick.  i dropped Mead off at about 9 am and picked her up at 4 that afternoon.  i guess all vets do it differently.  expect her to be super groggy because she’s not going to have much time to sleep if off at the vet.

Elizabeth who will be the one more likely to do Ebony’s spay would be more than happy to let you see the procedure.  She asked me when I was down there with Lily.

While Ebony is under request Elizabeth to cut her nails … maybe the reason why her ears are scratched if the nails are too long.  And also ask if she could clean out her scent glands.  Do you have a carry case … if you like you can borrow mine and keep it until all your other bunnies have been spayed etc.

I am taking my new 16 week old bunny to the vet for a check up should I ask to have her scent glands taken care of?

Thanks Dawn, I have a few cat carry crates as now with 4 cats I need them. I did cut Ebony’s nails about a week ago but I will get her to look at them.

I never thought of the sent glands, good idea and thanks again.

I am getting nervous for her; it’s only 1 and half hours to go.

Everything will be fine and Elizabeth is a good vet … just that she is so expensive!

Both my female rabbits were ok after their spay … Sprinkles was up and about the following morning and Lily was up that afternoon.

Just keep an eye on Ebony (I know that you would anyways) and give her a nice quiet comfy spot to let her rest without the other buns around.

They really are great lil creatures and very resilient … Ebony is young so she will be ok.

                      Hugs

                      Dawn xx
