Oh goodness, those beaver tails look so good
*drooling* LPT! EVIL!
Yesterday, I did my first Ovarian Cancer walk in Seattle! My mom was taken by this cancer back in 2009. This was my first year doing the walk. It was a little emotional, I didn’t bawl or anything, but I had tears in my eyes when I first got there. The feeling of ‘Not being alone’ was very overwhelming. There was one reason we were all here.
The race raised over $500,000 for research.
It is so important to raise awareness. Ovarian Cancer has such normal woman symptoms – bloated, feeling full quickly, indigestion, lower back pain, etc
Most doctors just think it IS just normal woman problems
Before my mom stopped working (due to her illness), she worked at a grocery store down in Lake Washington. I went to visit after the race and I thanked her boss for everything that he did for her. He told me that he still thinks of my mom a lot.
