› FORUM › THE LOUNGE › Stus accidental litter…..
Carl and I were cleaning out the cage yesterday and noticed that stu was pulling out a lot of hair and growling at me. This morning I went to check on her and there are babies in the cage. They are under a huge lot of hair, buried into the straw where Stu Sleeps. Is there anything I need to do? Does stu need a special diet or anything, what do I do?!
Oh goodness. Yes, unlimited pellets for Stu and more of the regular diet (veggies, hay) while she’s nursing.
ohhh babies! i bet their cutiepies! don’t they not grow hair for about a week though???
make sure she always has pellets, but if you begin to notice caked udders(over production of milk… it will looked a caked up and icky. the babies won’t be able to nurse.) then you should limit the pellets. my ARBA book says this is a very rare problem so don’t worry. just something to keep in mind. maybe up the veggies a bit.
The most important thing that hasn’t been mentioned, of course, is that it is absolutely required, and i mean required, it is not optional: Daily pics posted here. yep. its necessary, sorry ![]()

I like to refer members to this post about Oreo having a surprise litter. It is long, but is chock full of good advice and information, with the progress of the babies happening as it goes along. Try reading it for some tips and links that may help you immediately as well as down the road a bit.
Oh gosh! Looks like it was the real thing after all. How many babies are there? If you haven’t already, take a thorough look in the cage and do a head count. Sometimes they’re not always in the nest. It’s ok to pick them up and put them back in the nest.
Kafrn, I was reading back over the thread where we discussed false pregnancy….I’m wondering who the father is….Do you think it was Mr Bunny post neuter? Do you know Flopsys age and has she been properly sexed? Just thinking it is possible Flopsy is a male and the father. Even if she isn’t, it’s still important to know her age because if she’s female it is also possible that she is pregnant. Do you house Flopsy and Stu together? If so, you;ll need to separate them because 1) if Flopsy IS male and at the right age, he can impregnate Stu again straight away and 2) either male or female, it would be safer for the babies that Flopsy is removed. (Please correct me if I’m wrong anybody.) I’m really sorry to bring this up – but it is better to consider these things and be prepared.
How is Flopsy with the eye situation by the way?
I’m curious to know what your daughter thinks of the baby bunnies?
OMG thanks so much for the info everyone!
I have just done a head count, and there are 6 babies. All of them so little! I took some pics to show you. they are all in the nest so I dont have to move any
I have given the rabbits unlimited pellets, and lots of salad. they are very happy.
The funny thing is that Stu and Flopsy are still in together. I was going to take flopsy out this morning, but carl had been watching her and now we are honestly not sure who is the mother. flopsy goes in and lies with the babies, and sits right outside the little door of their nursery, and Stu is just going about her business as normal., and has only visited them once or twice. We are keeping a close eye on them to see who goes in to do the feeds, but havent worked it out yet (I know that sounds terrible, but we didnt see them being born, and stu and flopsy are both so nurturing its hard to tell!)
Mr. Bunny is watching on from his cage.
Flopsys eyes are about the same as they were the other day. Stu keeps licking them. some whit.ew stuff came out of one, but I have been bathing them every few hours and they are clearing up ok. The vet isnt open today but we are going to see if the vet can come tomorrow to look at her eyes. They seem to be doing better though. I am going to go through the posts now and do some studying of baby bunnies
Here are some pics of them

One Day Old

Kate, thats really interesting about flopsy… Im going to try and sex her now…
She is a girl, I cant see any boy bits anyway. Her bits look like Stus bits.
Flopsy is sitting on the babies now… she is curled up on the nest with the babies underneath her, licking them and I think feeding them….
Does this mean that Flopsy is the mum?
Kate, do you think Stu could still be having a fake pregnancy if this is the case? She is still moody!
Who’s fur is in the nest? Are both bunnies simillar in color?
ooo baby bunny ears! <3
Stu is black and flopsy is white, but there is hair from both of them in there. about 50/50… but flopsy has flopped over them and they are nuzzling up against her now… Stus just watching…
I would think it’s Stu who had the litter from her recent behaviours plus she built the nest pulling fur from her dewlap. She may have gathered some of Flopsys fur from about the hutch. Or she has some white undercoat herself. Her keeping her distance is quite normal. This excert is from HRS article on Mothers and Babies.
“Often times people are concerned that the mother rabbit “is not feeding the babies,” sometimes because she is never seen with them. This is normal behavior for a domestic (or wild) rabbit and that mother rabbits do not “lay” with their offspring in the same manner as dogs and cats.
Domestic rabbits retain some of the genetic imprints of their wild European ancestors, who are animals preyed upon by others in nature. Mother rabbits instinctually sense that staying with their offspring would call a predator’s attention to the nest. Adult rabbits have a scent, while babies do not yest have a strong scent.
Most mother rabbits will not hop into the nest (or box) to check on their infants during the day, although she is usually watching from a safe distance. This is normal behavior.
Rabbits feed their offspring only once or twice per day and will only do so when they feel safe, usually just before dawn and/or just after dusk. If humans and children are continually gathered around the cage, the mother may become too stressed to nurse the infants.
There is a way to determine that the mother is indeed feeding the offspring. Did the mother rabbit pull fur? Did she shred papers, or gather hay or rip up carpeting (if housed indoors) in an attempt to “make a nest?” Mother rabbits usually make a nest any time between a few days prior to the birth up to the day of birth itself. She may also do so without an actual pregnancy.”
It’s well worth reading the who article as it touches on sexing your rabbits and gives tips on care for Mother and Babies. http://www.rabbit.org/care/babies.html
As for Flopsy, it could be possible she is pregnant…Sorry, I feel pessimitic for suggesting it but it is possible. How old is she? Was she from a pet shop? They don’t always give correct details.
I’m a little concerned Flopsy being in there. Does anyone know when the mother begins to feed? I’m wondering if having another rabbit there male or female would impact on Stu going to feed the kits? Of course you have to establish exactly who the mother is but it’s highly likely it is Stu as she is definately old enough and she has been acting pregnant.
Jersey thanks for finding that quote. I was thinking that it made sense that Stu is the mother and has been staying away. Only about twice a day to feed is normal. Flopsy may just be babysitting, or curious, or in the mood for a litter herself. If Flopsy isn’t pulling out her own hair to build a nest it may be that she is not pregnant. Just wait and watch at this point, unless you want to take her to be spayed right away while Stu is nursing the babies.
It probably wouldn’t hurt to get Flopsy away and back in her own space when it looks like Stu wants to be near the babies. She’s probably available to feed and in that case Flopsy might be preventing her from doing so.
Great pix!
Hi, thanks so much for the articles they have helped heaps.
6 babies in total, all are fat and healthy this morning, and wriggling around the nest.
Flopsys eyes are doing much better, the vet gave us some solution for them to clear them up.
Flopsy and Stu are still in together today, the vet said it is ok to keep them together, but now I am really worried about what I have been reading on here. I want to seperate them but Stu frets a lot if flopsy isnt with her. What if it Stu frets so much that she forgets about the babies? Stu spends most of her days grooming and cuddling flopsy. If flopsy goes for a run, Stu will sit there looking really worried until she comes back, then she relaxes again.
Flopsy does go and sit with the babies sometimes, which worries me now from what people are saying. But I am also very worried about seperating them. What should I do???
If they fret when apart, and it isn’t causing any problems with the babies, I wouldn’t worry about it. Keep them together, if they are happy that way.
More babies!!! We are getting a big dose of babies on Binky Bunny lately (not complaining
)
How are the babies today? Could we please have another picture. Please!!!
Love baby pictures.
kafrn, as you may have noticed from amanda’s thread… we require almost daily pic updates! ![]()
I think you should easily be able to tell who’s babies they are by NIPPLES!! It’s almost impossible to tell if a rabbit is pregnant ahead of time-even the day they give birth. However after-mom should have big nipples sticking out full of milk.
Maybe if you see the bunny on the nest pick her up to see if a baby or two is on a nipple-that could also confirm who mom is.
I’m almost wondering-is it possible? You said two were pulling out fur-could there be two small litters in the same nest? Would rabbits do that?
CUTE babies-I can’t wait to see what color they are.
lol! I took some more pics this morning while Stu and Flopsy were out doing binkies on the lawn. I will post them in a few hours when I get home from work, I promise.
All 6 babies are doing well, they still look all pink and wrinkly but they seem to be a lot bigger today!!! They were funny to watch this morning, they were so wriggly! Just about doing backflips!
Flopsy is going to get some medicine from the vet tonight for her eye. One of them is normal again now, but I am still worried about the other one.
Kookanee: Stus nipples are HUGE so she must be the mummy. lol. And flopsy is just making friends with the babies and babysitting for Stu.
I have checked flopsy all over, her nipples are normal and she is not pulling hair. But while Stu was grooming her this morning, a clump was pulled out and Stu raced off with it to the nest.
How many kits are normally in a litter? is 6 a large number of kits?
i think six is on the large side of average, but i’m not positive.
beautiful babies! the time will fly by so fast.
& I can’t wait to see more pictures as they grow.
Day 3 — Moving and jumping on top of each other in the nest

Oh, and Flopsy has a brand new house now all to herself, so Stu can have some serious mother / baby time. She doesnt seem to be fretting too much either because they can still see eachother.
Oh my! What cute lil babies! That is curious about the two girls both nurturing the babies… Can you still let them have some out-of-cage playtime together in the shared area? It’d be best not to break their bond if at all possible.
Aww how sweet
How many kits are normally in a litter? is 6 a large number of kits?
Six is pretty average-I think the largest litter on record is 19 but generally between 1-9 babies ![]()
Stu and flopsy were playing together this morning on the lawn, and Carl and I went to check on the babies. We could only count 5 jumping around. After moving a little bit of hair on the other side of the nest, we found one that had passed away. a little pink baby with black ears. She was much much thinner than the other babies, and stu had buried her away from the nest. We have taken her out to the garden and buried her. RIP little bunny. Im so sad, I want to go home and snuggle the bunnies. I love them all so so so much ![]()
![]()

Day 4
Starting to grow hair now…
The one in the middle of the picture has exactly the same markings as Mr. Bunny. Even the spot on his nose. And there is one that is all black, with a white nose. so sweet.
We named the baby that passed away Little Angel. I hope she knows how much we loved her, even though we had only known her for a few days.
Rip Little Angel.
Aww, they are starting to resemble bunnies!!!
Binky Free Little Angel.
Sometimes the runts don’t always survive. Also, as I’ve learnt at this site, there are peanut babies. They are sort of misshapen and don’t survive. It’s sad all the same.
I swear a couple have Dutch markings! Especially that one up the top of last pic you posted. I wonder if Stu or Mr Bunny have some Dutch in their lineage?!!!
awww binky free Little Angel *snuggles*
And zomg i want that little spotted one in the last pic ![]()
I thought that too about the dutch markings too Kate, but I have no idea what breed either Stu or Mr Bunny are. Mr bunny is almost 7 pounds, and a lop. Stu is tiny compared to him, about the size of a netherland dwarf maybe…. (although fatter at the moment with all the milk) and she has big upright ears
I’m so sorry that Little Angel passed. Hugs…
She knows how much she was loved. Even in her short time here, she was kept safe and that’s what matters.
Most accidental litters that are posted here on BB, they don’t all make it. It’s very sad, but it’s for the best that she pass on quickly…
RIP Little Angel.
They are so adorable! You’d better watch it, in a few weeks, I might have to steal one or all! *shifty eyes* Lol. Keep the pictures coming!
Aw, Binky Free Little Angel. How sad.
Binky free Little Angel. I know it is sad, but you still hvae 5 other babies that are doing well. They are getting so big! And soooo cute!![]()
They are doing well this morning. Stu has buried them deeper inside the nest because they were jumping around a lot. 3 of them have dutch markings. 1 is all white with black ears and black spots all over, and one is all black like stu, but with a white dot on its nose.
I will post some more pics when I get home tonight
They grew heaps overnight. their ears look so much bigger today ![]()
Aw, they are just too adorable!
*Binky Free Little Angel*
*poke poke poke*
Been 2 days.
*POKE POKE*
![]()
watch out Kafrn, monkeybun will bring out the stick to poke with.
who, me? *innocent expression*
Lol I am at work at the moment but I will post some more pics for you tonight when I get home monkeybun.
I checked on babies this morning though and all are doing well.
What is the time difference between here (Adelaide) and America??? must be about 12 hours cause no one is online at the same time as me!!!!!
14 hours i believe.
I’m on all hours it seems. I think I visit BB in my sleep.. ![]()
Monkeybun, I feel the same way at the moment
Certainly didnt get enough sleep last night
We are starting to think of some names for the babies
Does anyone have any ideas? Because 3 of them have dutch markings, I looked up some Dutch names. I mentioned to Carl this morning that we could call one of them Adelbert. He was horrified. lol
What are some good names for the baby buns ![]()
Tulip for a girl maybe?
Day 6

.jpg)
So cute! I love the first picture, where the baby has has paw on a little piece of hay like he’s pushing it away from himself – or into his brother/sister!(sibling rivalry, anyone?
)
Oh and as for names…. It might be a bit cheesy, but i think it’s cute to name a litter after a theme, like candy bars or flowers or cars or something.
Speaking of cheese….
“Edam” for a boy name? As in Dutch Edam Cheeses.
Maybe pronounced it as Adam though ![]()
Kafrn, weren’t they born on Fathers Day (Aus) ? Maybe there’s a theme idea in there somewhere.
Or famous groups of Five. Hi-5? lol
btw, I happen to think Adelbert is a cool name for a bunny!
awww to cute.
I like the one with the stripe down it’s back.
I’m wanting to name the one I plan on keeping from My Penny & Lola’s litter Oliver for a boy or Bailey for a girl. I’m still thinking of girl names.
I don’t know any Dutch names but I do have some favorites.
I really like the names Oliver, Bailey, Tippy, Lexi, and of course Penny & Lola. lol
Awww baby bunbun whiskers! <3 I still want the spotted one ![]()
Oh, and in case you were wondering, you posted them just after 1 am my time :p
i love this site….. http://www.altheim.com/bunny/
it’s a comprehensive bunny name list. There are lots of good names on there!! I usually try to think of a letter and then go through that letters list (its kinda overwhelming otherwise!!)
Wow, there are a lot of names on that list. I of course had to look up my bunnies names to see if they were on the list and if I was creative enough- but Cotton, Griffin and Penny are on the list- but Schroeder was not on the list. So I was only 25% creative I guess.
The baby bunnies are so, so cute! I think baby bunnies are so cute because they are so naughty when they hit the teenager stage. It is their master plan to make you fall in love with them when they are little, cute and cuddly- and then you are already hooked and have to endure the naughtiness of litter training issues, etc. (Can you tell that Griffin is starting to drive me crazy? LOL How hard can it be to pee in the same box ALL the time?
)
ONE WEEK OLD! (well, they will be in the morning)
.jpg)
awwww <3 How is it that ears can be so cute?
Very sweet, I love the spotted one.
Okay, those little pink noses and whiskers are just too much adorable..
POKE! POKE! POKE!!!
Please, Please. Please!!! More pictures!!! My wild ones have left & I’m having empty nest syndrome along with cuteness withdrawals.
*brings out the sticks, hands one to Furface*
POKE!
I’m going to be a little controversial here and risk death by poking sticks by requesting no more pictures…![]()
See Kafrn is also in South Australia and I fear any more cute pics and I am in Trooooouuuuuble! I will start plotting bun-napping. Though I risk getting arrested along with the crazy-pink-tray-lady.
Who am I kidding? Bring on the Cute!
OMG! Ship me the little spotty one! PWEEEZE! 0_o
Aw Furface, I didn’t catch this…are all the little wild bunnies gone?
*searches forums*
They are ADORABLE!!!!!! *squeal* They are too cute, and getting so big! Buning-napping plan in the works…hehe *kniving look* ![]()
OH SQUEEEE It looks like you have some dutch colored babies!!!
*Takes a stick from monkeybun* POKE -more pictures!!!
How precious! I love their itty bitty ears all folded back!

These pictures are DAY 10!!!
Im sorry I havent posted for a few days, BAD KAFRN!!!
lol Jersey Girl, you dont have to plan bunny napping, you are very welcome to adopt a baby
Have been chasing the pink tray lady off with sticks though. lol .
More pics tomorrow.
Im going to find the brand of those toy balls now so that the babies can have one each. Sigh. 8 rattly Balls….. Will we ever sleep again?!
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww *snuggles! snuggles snuggles snuggles!* i am so getting a spotted bunbun next. ADORABLE!
AWWW, OK, I’ve had my cuteness fix for this morning. LOL What about this afternoon? LOL

Gotta love your attitude!!! LOL
Whenever I check in on this thread I’m left singing “Pass the Dutchie on the left hand side…”
It gets stuck in my head!
Dutch names: Rembrandt, Vermeer, Vincent, Bruce…
I’m sorry I havent posted more yet
I opened up Stus house this morning to take some more pics but she was sitting with the babies and I dindt want to disturb her. Stu is back to her normal self now though, she binkies all day, and last night she jumped on my lap for cuddles for half an hour!!! I love my Stu.
I will take some more pics when I get home from work. One of the babies yesterday hopped out of the nest, but it rolled back in pretty quickly. Their eyes arent open yet. Does anyone know how old they are when they open their eyes?
I like the names you posted Rabbit Pam! I like Rembrandt! Thats so cute!
Maybe we could call the Dutchies Rocket, Rembrandt and Radish…
Its hard to tell them apart when they are this small though
Furface, you are giving me a phobia of sticks!!! I promise I’ll be good and post more pics tonight. Only 7 hours to go until I get home!!!

.jpg)
Babies were a bit camera shy tonight. Eyes still closed. Wanted to snuggle under the hay
<3 <3 <3 I wanna snuggle in there with them!
Make room for me too…. they are so cute…..
Cuteness overload! They are so cozy!
Help!
I was reading a book about baby rabbits, and it says that the babies are meant to have opened their eyes by day 12. it says that if their eyes havent opened by day 12 then you should open them with a cotton bud and water. It also says that if you havent opened the eyes by day 14 then they will all be blind!!! Im so upset, I want to help but I am worried because the book also says that if they are in straw then they can form bacteria under their eyes and go blind too. I didnt know this!!!
Should I remove the straw?
If I remove all the straw and put them on a towel will they get really cold?
Will Stu Abandon them?
Should I help them gently to open their eyes? They are 13 days old today, are their eyes going to be ok?
Sorry to be a pain with all the questions, I just read this just now and it has really worried me !
this may help!
http://www.bio.miami.edu/hare/surpriselitter.html
“A covered litterbox (the type used for cats) makes a good nest box. It should be lined with a towel on the bottom (but make sure the towel has no loose strings or holes, since babies can get tangled and strangled!) topped with a layer of soft hay or straw. The babies in their nest should be placed on top of the hay. Make sure mama sees where her babies are, and then let her choose what to do.”
It would be really rare for her to abandon them. Are you concerned this might happen because you handle them? It’s ok to handle them, but only as necessary I guess. Like you wouldn’t want to be pulling them out of the nest for cuddles all the time etc. Sooo, I think it would be ok to go ahead and wipe the eyes. Maybe try a wet cotton ball first. Babies are born on hay all the time. Just be sure to replace the hay when it gets soiled. If you’re really concerned maybe look into some animal bedding from the pet shop or put some fleece or towels in there.
Is there any crusties around their eyes? They appear really healthy. I did just remember about Flopsy having conjuctivitis so I reckon giving their eyes a wipe over would be good anyhow. Try not get ahead of yourself, it may be that they were just not ready to open them yet. Keep us posted.
thanks so much Kate and Katie!
They dont have any crusties around their eyes at all. So it is ok to move the babies, take out the yucky hay, and put in a towel and a tiny bit of fresh hay and clean their eyes?
Cause at the moment Stu has them buried under about 15cm of hay, and if I clear it back, she buries them in it again. so its ok to remove this old hay? It wont worry her?
It hsould be ok to change the hay for sure. You want to keep those adorabunnies in a clean house ![]()
Maybe give her some out time away from the cage. Keep nest intact as much as possible and move it to box temporarily with babies. Replace hay in cage and put back most of nest minus the yucky bits. Clean babies eyes then put them back in nest. Katharine, I don’t have experience with baby buns, I’m just going by what I read and have observed other who’ve dealt with litters here have done. Some have posted photos of them holding the kits even a few days old and it did not seem to worry the mother in that case.

.jpg)
.jpg)
Guess what?! When I got home, 3 of them had opened their eyes! So cute!!!
I cleaned out their yucky straw and put a nice towel and some clean straw in for them ![]()
they came out of the nest for a bit and wobbled around the play pen! then they huddled up and went back to sleep.
So I dont have to worry anymore *whew*, that book had me really concerned about their eyes for a bit!
But all are doing well! Thanks for the advice everyone, it really helps so much
I dont know what I would do without binky bunny ![]()
Omygosh Kafrn… where do you live? Can I have the speckled one?

Awwww Im sorry I live so far away.
If you ever come to Oz, then drop in and visit the babies!!!
They have names now!
the black one with a white foot is Sparrow
The dutchie with the spots on his neck is Rocket (he launches into mid air if you come near him)
The black and white one is Rabbit (Rabz, or Mr rabbit when he grows up, cause he is just like his dad)
Other 2 still thinking but we like Radish and Rembrandt (thanks Rabbit Pam!!!)
SOOO adorable!! Cute names too ![]()
Wow they are so small and cute. How old are they now and how is the mother with them. Are u going to keep them all?
.jpg)
.jpg)
Hi Coco! Hi Bunnymum! Thank you, they are 14 days old, and Stu (their mother) is really good with them, although we still havent caught them feeding. She does it really late at night
We are going to keep them all!
We have opened up a bunny account at the bank and put money aside for neuters and vet care so that we are always prepared. Carl is building 2 new very large condos for them as we speak. So in all we will have 4 huge condos with 2 buns in each, when its all finished. The babies (although unexpected) came at the right time because our entertainment area is currently being remodeled, which means the bunnies will have their very own large area, as well as the run of the house. So exciting!!!!!!
Thats great that you can keep em all! (except the spotted one, you don’t know it yet, but im gonna teleport there and kidnap it) Its so nice when you don’t have to worry about where they’re gonna end up ![]()
Thanks monkeybun! lol I dindt know you had a teleport machine, you can come visit anytime.
Rabz (the little spotted one) can be your adopted internet bunny
I will post new pics everyday
We are so excited about the new bunny condo plans!!! I will post pics when they are finished!!! Although still doing renovating so it may take a while!
In the meantime should I just post more pics of the babies?
Of course, post more pix of the babies.
I would suggest starting a brand new thread for it in the Lounge. We just moved Lola’s post there for proper ooo’s and ahhh’s.
It’s much easier to find than going to page 14 on a post that started with their birth.
Post soon. Many, many pix.
BTW, be absolutely certain you have them sexed correctly before housing them two by two. One mistake and it’s litter time again.
I will move this thread of cuties over to the Lounge section later this evening for more baby ooh’s and aah’s there as a heads up to those beautiful baby bunny watchers.
AWW They keep getting cuter too!!!!
Thats cooll your makeing them all condoes. I wish we had room to do tht but we dont. I ‘m glad themother is doing good with them and i hope she is feeding them lol. I added u as a friend btw I hope thats ok.I lovew the pics of the babes.![]()
Those pictures are adorable! That’s so awesome that you are keeping them all! Soooo cute!!!!!!!!
So glad you can keep them all. Now the pics never have to stop ![]()
of course you can post more pics, we <3 the babies! Keep em coming!
And YAY for being and adopted internet bunny-mommy! *snuggles*
They are so adorable! I’m glad that you’ll have a way to keep the whole bunny family together and give them plenty of space, it will be so fun to watch them grow up ![]()
oh im slacking there is jsut to many new post to go through each day !!! and now MORE tiny baby buns! EIIIK
they are sooo cute!! & they have grown so much!
this might sound silly but are there 4 or 5 babies?? ![]()
There are 5 babies
Rembrandt, Raisin, Rocket, Sparrow and Rabbit. ![]()
aw. too sweet.
I’m happy to hear your keeping all of them. They are so lucky.. It makes me feel bad for not keeping all of penny&lola’s babies and they only had three.
Your babies will have a wonderful home & they don’t have to split up. such lucky bunnies!!
I love the picture with the three dutch babies. to cute.
*poke poke*
Must have more spotted bunny pics ![]()
Thanks amanda, your babies are so sweet, I have been watching your thread every day! Oliver is a beautiful name!!!
I will post more pics tonight MonkeyBun lol. You will be happy to hear that your little spotted bunny was very boisterous this morning
They are so beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So cool that ur keeping them! =) they’re adorable
Yes, we will certainly be taking great care to ensure this wont happen again
The Babies will be sexed by the vet as soon as they are old enough, and desexed. How old do they have to be before you can determine the sex?
your welcome
I could tell the sex of mine when they were 6 weeks old.
Wow, that is cool that y’all are going to keep them.
I can just imagine bonding them all back together – after they are fixed – and having them all run around together!!!!!
Babies Day 17 . Babies are running around the house today!
Here are some pics of Rabbit and Raisin ![]()

Awww, awesome pics.
Oh my goodness. Those binky pictures are adorable!!!
oh man, that is so sooo cute. I’m so jealous that you get to keep all those little munchkins!
How do you manage to keep the little ones in the yard? I’d be scared to death lol. Of course I’ve never put our buns in the backyard, maybe I should try it sometime.
Oh! My! Goodness!
oh my!
you took some great pictures of them playing in the grass.
I’ve tried taking my babies out a few times but they were scared.
They are the cutest bunnies ever!
i know that intentional breeding is bad and what not, but i am so glad y’all had accidental litters because they are wonderful and adorable!!!!!!!!!!

You sound like one of my friends once she sees a cute animale she wants it. I’m the same way too that why we have a mini zoo working over here lol.![]()
Lol. Last night I let Stu out with Flopsy and Mr Bunny and they ran our to the grass straight away… followed by the babies!!! They waddled after Stu like little ducklings! It was their first time outside on the lawn… They absolutely LOVED it!!!
Soleil, our yard is completely fenced in, so the bunnies cant get out unless they start digging. There is a gap under the fence, but that goes to another section of our driveway that is completely fenced in too, so they cant really go too far. Stu used to try and dig out under the fence, but after filling it in a few times, she seemed to lose interest.
On the other side of the Grass is our Pool Fence, with the pool behind it. Toby (our dog) is behind the pool fence when the babies are out and about. The Rabbits dont seem to like going through the fence there because it is all concreted around the pool and they dont like the feel of it under their feet. But they go right up to the pool fence and groom the dog, and fall asleep with him licking them through the fence sometimes
Bunnycutie, Sparrow is adorable isnt she/he?! Sparrow is so different to the other 4! She has a completely different body shape, and is much smaller than the others. It was so sweet to see her do a binky yesterday! Shes a quiet little character. The triplets are hoppers, they jump as much and as high as they can! And Rabz is just so friendly. He crawls onto your hand to be picked up, and he is really cheeky too! He plays cat and mouse with your feet!
I will take some more pics when I get home tonight
Have a good day everyone
*poke*

3 weeks old today!
Sorry I havent posted any pics for awhile. we have been removing some palms in our yard and it has taken like, 3 days!
I will post more this afternoon! The buns will be allowed back on the lawn by this afternoon. No more poisonous trees!
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh!!!!!! *fainted* they are tooo tooo tooo cuteeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All our newborn bunnies are like little brothers and sisters!
so funny how they were all born recently!
I still can’t believe there is 3 little dutches in that mix! Somebuns secret is out. Just not sure which bunny-Stu or MrBunny. Such a perfect family, 3 D’s. A mini Mr Bunny and a mini Stu with a white sock. How old was the Angel bunny, did you see it’s fur markings also?
Here are some more pics of day 22 ![]()
Jersey, Who looks more like a dutch body shape , Stu or Mr Bunny?
I did hear what breed Stus parents were at one point from the people we rescued her from, but I cant remember, i will have to chase it up…
The Angel Bunny was going to be pure white…. she was about 3 days old when she died, but unlike the others, she had no markings on her skin at all..
These guys binkied everywhere today…

Great piccies! Can I come live in your back yard? Jersey & Rumball would come too, and I can keep watch for the crazy cat lady for you. So can I? Can I?
Jersey, Who looks more like a dutch body shape , Stu or Mr Bunny?
Neither!
I think the Dutch is probably from Stu though….you said she’s netherland dwarf breed? She doesn’t look full nethie. But who really knows, it could easily have come from Mr Bunnys side.
Aww they are so cute ane they are getting so big so fast. I hope u got all the posin trees out of the yard so they can go play again,![]()
I think Rocket is the cutest little one!
How big is your back yard? They must love it out side. I love the pics they are too cute.
*snuggles!* They”re getting so fluffy
*extra pets for Rabz!*
Here are 2 more pics of Sparrow from yesterday ![]()
Jersey, you can certainly come and live in our backyard!!! We havent seen the Crazy pink tray lady for a while now! It seems the police have scared her off
But the bunnies would love to meet Jersey and Rumball!
Coco, our yard is kinda big…. Big enough for 8 rabbits anyway
They have the run of the house also, but they seem to prefer it on the lawn. Except Mr Bunny. Mr bunny found a way through the pool fence and likes to explore the other side of the house, and dig holes near the kennel (which has been getting our dog into trouble until we realised what was going on!)
They are sooooooooooooooo fluffy now!

AAAAawwwww very cute =) they make me smile!
His toes are so cute!
ADORABLE!! So happy that you are able to keep and care for them all!! I wish that my lawn (which is a dirt pit right now because of the 115+ 2 months that we had for a Texas summer) was nice and green and fensed in. Im sure the bunnies LOVE it out there!!
Im moving into your backyard too (with Samson and Ivy).
Bunny partyyyy… whooo hoo!
Me and Monkey will be right over to play too ![]()
Aww cute little tootsies.
I don’t think I can take much more…that cuteness is seriously a lot to handle!!! If they were at my house, there would be endless “Squeeeeesss” and “Eeeeeeeees” at every little thing they do!
A friend of mine contacted Stus original owner to find out what kind of Rabbits Stus Parents were, and this was her response:
The rabbits Dad is JoJo a Jersey Woolly.(dark grey and fluffy) (Very hard to get a hold of, they are very little rabbits)
The rabbits Mum is Hop Hop a Dutch rabbit (dark brown with white patches, not fluffy) bigger than father, very gentle temperment, very quiet.
So I guess from that answer, the dutch in the babies would be from Stus side ???
aww!! They are sooo cute! Do baby bunnies smell good like baby guinea pigs do? I love how clean they smell and how soft they are. Then they grow up and get stinky. lol.
I need new pics
please ![]()
They are all sooo adorable! I must admit Sparrow (including all the other!) is my weakness! They are all getting so big! I am sooo happy that you are keeping them all and will have such a great loving home!
Hi! Sorry I havent posted for awhile, we have been busy with the buns new houses, and I havent had much of a chance to take pictures. ![]()

I just fainted from bunny cutness. I havn’t been on in a long time so I just read your whole post & wow!!! There all so cute. I feel so bad for Angel Bunny though, I hope she’s happy wherever she is. Binky free.
I want to steal Rocket. So if you can’t find him one day you’ll know why. Don’t worry I will send you pics, but he will be mine!!! All mine!!!! “Evil Laugh”
