So sometimes after my Olly has a drink his tummy makes a gurgling sound, just like our tummy does sometimes, like if we drink soup too quickly, Olly was sleeping and his tummy made this sound, I said. “Was that your tummy darling?” He got up and looked round, got in his Playpen and had some food and water and went to his litter tray to do everything he had to do, its normal, this happens quite a bit, could he be gulping his food and water?

That’s fairly normal, like a human drinking a lot of water on an empty stomach. It can slosh around. Wick typically has those gurgly noises while and shortly after eating romaine lettuce.

If you hear constant gurgling, that could instead be gassiness which may be accompanied by Olly posturing weird because he’s uncomfortable. If you notice this, giving him a little bit of baby gas drops (simethicone) should help, along with tummy massages.

If gassiness becomes a chronic problem, diet and lifestyle, as well as general health should be evaluated.

Both my boys do this. Sterling gurgles really loud.
