  My husband and I are sharing out home with a mixed male bunny who is a little over a year old. He was spayed at 4 months and has chewed under the furniture in the past but not for months. This weekend, Stuart stopped eating and pooping and because of the holiday, he couldn’t see a vet til Tuesday. We had force fed him some pellet paste with a syringe and gave him water the same way. The vet game him fluids and told us to give him syringes of Activia yogurt twice a day. It’s Friday and thankfully he is eating more but not normal amounts. The vet said he had too much hair in his digestive tract. Now he’s chewing wooden door frames, tables, and carpet that he had not touched before. We are not sure if this is his revenge or if he’s trying to tell us something else. We have been loving and caring for him and even praying for his recovery. Now he is even eating houseplants that he knows he shouldnt. Any suggestions?

  What does your bunny’s diet consist of? Is he getting enough hay? He should be getting unlimited hay as this will help wear down his teeth. I’m wondering if his teeth are bugging him? If he’s not eating enough hay, that could be part of the digestive issues too.
  
  Is your vet rabbit savvy? I’m very surprised to hear that your vet recommended yogurt as rabbits should not have any dairy product.

  It’s not a good idea to just let your rabbit decide what they eat. I would put him in an x pen until you can bunny proof more. There shouldn’t be any strange plants down low where they can reach that they shouldn’t eat. That’s like putting chocolate on the floor and hoping the dog will decide to just not eat it. I agree with her as well, ^ rabbits are not supposed to have dairy of any kind.

  The plants are not harmful, but he usually hops away from them if we say no. They are high on stands and he never usually tries to reach them. Vet checked his teeth and they are fine. He started chewing wall corners and door trim that he never touched before he was sick. His diet is in accordance with this website and I look up everything before I give it to him.
