I went to check on my rabbits this morning (I have two males, both neutered ) and found what I assume is blood smeared across one of his ears and the other pretty chewed up at the bottom. I regularly check their ears and take them to the vets and they haven’t got an infection or anything. Also they are never aggressive towards each other so I doubt it was simba (my other rabbit).

Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do, I have already scheduled a vet appointment and what caused the bleed

I’m unsure what chewed up looks like, but keeping a closer eye on the two wouldn’t hurt. Just in case they are having a tussle and you haven’t noticed.

I know Wick made his ear bleed once when grooming it with his back leg and I just clipped his nails, so it was sharp.

Another thought could be mites or fleas? I forget if it’s mites, fleas, or tickets, but one of them leave behind blood.

I would also check the environment to see if his ear got snagged anywhere!
