        Hi Everyone,

First time posting so hope it’s in the right place.

I have a 7month old mini lop and I have a few issues with her at the moment all poo related

Firstly her poo stinks and it happened very suddenly almost over night, at first I thought cecals but I haven’t seen any, however some of her poo has a shiny coating to it but is normal poo size? along with the smell these stinky pellets are being dropped all over her cage, I assume marking her territory, she has not been spayed but is booked in next month. Once she has been spayed I assume her litter habits will improve but what about the stinky poo smell, she’s an indoor rabbit and I am currently vacuuming her poo almost 3 times a day as I can’t stand the smell, this however does not help for very long because as soon as she notices that I have cleaned she jumps back in and starts dropping stink bombs. Any idea’s??

        Thanks

yeah, this is scented marking poop. They coat it in a substance that gives it that smell and shiny look.

It should lessen. Especially if she’s a single rabbit. (My rabbits -all desexed- still do this when they’re near others they’re not bonded too).
In the meantime, put another litterbox in the room when she’s out and about and put the marking poops in there. Hopefully that will encourage her to only go there. But it’s a gamble. :p

Thanks, I’ll try some extra litter boxes and see if that helps
