Hi guys, my mini lop went to the vet a few days ago to get checked out after MONTHS of having ear mites. I was worried because he is still persistently scratching his neck, ears and eye area. The vet said the ear wax looked normal and overall the inside of his ears looked like a regular rabbits and there was not self induced trauma anywhere. There was also no sign of ear mites, so I was advised to just monitor his behaviour to make sure he is ok. I’ve noticed that he still has some tiny amounts of scabs that are in the outer ear, and today his left eyelid was slightly runny (not just the corner of his eye, the area under his eyelid seemed to have been a tiny bit wet and pinker than his right eye). Could this be a secondary bacterial eye infection, since the ear mites have gone? He still eats his hay and poops often etc. When I took him out of his cage for the day he was quite normally active. He doesn’t have head tilt and he doesn’t stumble when he’s standing on his back feet. Anyone have any ideas as to what I should do next? He’s currently in his cage for the night so should I check his eye in the morning and go from there?

Sorry no one replied to this.  How is your bunny doing now?
