Starting a Community Watch

As some neighborhoods have a “Neighborhood Watch”,  there certainly isn’t any reason we can’t have BB community watch. Though we have leaders, we can’t be on here 24/7.  We don’t want to make members paranoid of new members and cause tension. It’s more of a casual, just keep your eyes open when things get a little off with a noodlehead or two. 

It can go in waves, so when you notice troll activity or something a little off, just start being alert during this time and report strange posts, odd activity and any inbox messages that don’t seem quite right.  

Some members have mentioned being offered advice or have just been sent an odd message from a brand new member via the message center.  If anyone is even slightly insulting – like says “Your pictures are boring”.  Please report it by messaging me or BinkyBunny.  This allows admin to be aware of a person who may be here to just cause trouble.

We really appreciate your attention with this. Hitting the Alert button is also very effective, since all of us check it and someone will see it fairly soon and report it to BB as well. And don’t feel badly – often you can use the Alert to ask us if something is odd, rather than telling us about a definite problem. It’s just a quick way to have BB or an FL decide if there’s something worth watching. Often it can mean a member just needs to read or re-read the rules, and a gentle reminder is made, so please use it. It guides us to trolls and spam really well, too.
