My youngest bun, a dutch named Badger was diagnosed with splay leg. We figured he had it since we bought him, because he couldnt stand correctly and his back legs were always parted rather far apart. The vet said it might get better as he gets older. So far, it hasnt gotten better, but it hasnt gotten worse, so the vet diagnosed him. He walks and runs just fine (his favorite thing is to run laps around the living room), and he loves to jump, although hes a bit clumsy with jumping (hes fallen a few times off the 1 foot high couch, but has always landed on his feet). However, he does has trouble standing and leaning. Its not uncommon for him to randomly fall over while cleaning himself, for example. The vet doesnt think his legs will get worse as he gets older, but his posture is very…. bad, so its likely he will have back problems as he gets older instead
I guess what im looking for is a kind of support thread for splay leg bunnies. Are there any other binky buns out there with splay leg? Tips for helping with back pain? Tips for helping with leg pain? Tip to help them stay comfortable in general? Personal stories are welcome too!

2 out of 3 of our babies are disabled in some way, which i and my boyfriend really dont mind because im disabled too, ha. Were a happy little family, anyway- You must be logged in to reply to this topic.
