Spider Bite

I was woke at 1:30 am for my rabbit. We have had a crazy spider problem and we’re trying our best to get to get rid of them, but just tonight we suppose she got bit. We think it was only wolf spider, which as far as I know isn’t poisonous. I guess she had puked and had diarrhea and wasn’t feeling well. I didn’t know they could puke, I read somewhere they couldn’t? Maybe it wasn’t a bite and she ate something she had to spit back out? Any thoughts or opinions? I’m super scared, she’s acting really weird and running around. Possibly loopy? I don’t think shes used to staying up this late, but I’m really scared this is the end. Please help. P.S. I just got more news. I don’t know of this has to do with anything, but she has had a stuffed animal with her since the passing of her brother, and before she could even come out she dragged it out with her. Is she trying to keep it away from the pain she’s experiencing as of now? I’ll try to keep updates but if anyone knows what’s happening PLEASE reply!!

You are correct that rabbits are unable to vomit, it’s physically impossible for them to do so. They are however able to spit out food as you suggested if it got caught in their throat or was still in their mouth. Was the diarrhoea runny, or just mushy poop. True diarrhoea is considered an emergency situation for a rabbit and I would be getting her to a vet asap if possible. If it’s just mushy poop, you could encourage her to eat hay and perhaps try to calm her down by petting her if that works for her. Is she still eating? Have you checked her over for bite marks? Her dragging the toy out might be her way of keeping it with her for comfort. She doesn’t sound well and you’re obviously very concerned about her behaviour as well, as owners we know our animal’s behaviours best, so I think a vet trip is in order as soon as you can, at the very least for your own peace of mind.

I think it’s just mushy, not runny. But we can’t afford to go to the vet as it is also 2 AM and everyone here is sleeping. We simply don’t have the money. Ita kind of weird because now she’s just running around? And I know she has been chewing on her hutch, maybe she got some wood in her system? (I hope not, but possibly better than spider bites) She won’t let me touch her to check for spider bites, I’ve tried the e best I can but she keeps running away. She’s also pooping everywhere (good and bad) so maybe she has somewhat normal behaviour.

I don’t think a wolf spider bite would cause a rabbit to act “loopy”. Are you sure she didn’t eat something? Or get exposed to any fumes?
