Yesterday morning, my boyfriend and I took little ChaCha to the vet to get spayed.
The vet was very kind. He used to show rabbits / was a breeder as a teenager (he no longer does it, but is experienced with rabbits). He looked into her carrier and thought she was a silver marten, but as soon as he saw the brown on the back of her neck, he said “Oh, shes an otter!!”
He weighed ChaCha, and she is her adult weight – 3 pounds, 11 oz
She is a big dwarf rabbit – with big personality
He said to switch her over to timothy as the alfalfa is very fattening and she is no longer a baby.
Her teeth are great, and he was very happy to answer all my questions.
I left worried like any other bun parent
I was told to call at 3 to see how she was doing. And she was hopping around
She stayed overnight to be watched, and I called at 9 am this morning and was told ChaCha didn’t eat yesterday, but ate a little today. The doctor suggested that ChaCha stay overnight again to make sure she is eating and pooping fine
My poor little baby
