I would agree-A couple of days in the cage, this keeps them quiet and makes giving medication and monitoring poop easier
You likely won’t have to syringe feed or water, but if you do, just do it at a pace that it doesn’t get spit out
Yes-ask for pain meds!! If they say you won’t need them or any of that, just demand them. It’s a three day course, it’s not expensive and it’s can’t hurt might help. You don’t have to give them if she’s doing well, but you also don’t want to be trying to get back to the vet in an emergency to get them, or worse if it’s a weekend or evening. Just make sure you get them and you can always toss them if you don’t need them.
Room temperature, no drafts
The vet should let her go home once she’s awake fully and has eaten a little bit of food. Bring her favorite foods with her so she eats right away. Give your vet your cell phone number so they can reach you after shes ready to go and you don’t have to wait any longer
It’s a tough wait, but it should not be overnight, just a day surgery.
You don’t want to be picking her up-will her carrier or box go into her cage-that way you could put the carrier into the cage and open it and she can walk out into the cage? Or could you try out a ramp ahead of time so she can walk into her cage?
That’s great you can borrow a carrier! Make sure you give it a wipe with a disinfectant or soapy water first; If she transported another rabbit or a cat in the carrier it could expose your bun to something, especially if they were transported to the vet. Just give it a good wipe and it will be fine!
Lots of vibes! When is the surgery date?
