Tucker goes for her check up and pre-spay visit next Friday so I am going to quiz the vet about the spay.  I know I had seen a check list of what to ask the vet but I am not sure where I found that.  Does anyone happen to remember where that was?

The vet that we picked is down at the beach, and they were the ones who seemed most knowledgeable and they were also reasonably priced.  The spay will cost 132.00 total with pain meds for afterwards.  I liked them because they asked us alot of questions about Tucker over the phone so I saw that as a good sign but I figured I’d save the actual interview type questions for the first visit so I get the answers right from the vet.

good questions to ask, since you know you want the vet to do the procedure and aren’t trying to rule him/her out are questions about what to expect and what to do with care afterwards. You should get some critical care on hand in case Tuck wants to give you a heart attack and not eat for a little bit One thing that shocked me but I found out later was how horrible Kahlua’s eyes looked after-they were all watery and I figured it was because she was in pain-really what it is -they put lubricant on their eyes so they don’t get dry during surgery so it was nothing to worry about !!!

Well while I would like them to do the spay if they aren’t going to do it right I’d rather spend the extra 70.00 and go to the one in the other town..the one in the other town is one that the HRS in the area goes to, so I’m sure they do plenty of them.  But, if the one that is 132.00 knows what they’re doing then I might as well save the money and go with them.  So, I figure I’d go for a check up and nail trim and then ask questions to find out if I want them to do the spay or if I’ll start going to the other one from then on.  The other one is about the same distance away but they’re office visits are more and their spay is more.

I agree tuckerbunz, Charlie’s neuter was very reasonably priced compared to other people but the vets were so excellent that I still can’t imagine taking my bunnies anywhere else!
