So today in an hour i will be taking honey to get spayed and i was just wondering what all to expect. I fixed her cage so she has a ramp to go up into it so she doesnt need to do the little hop to get in and i put some new fleace in her favorite spots to lay in the living room where she free roams but im just a little worried. She is a sassy thing and im worried she might do something to pull her stitches or something. She likes to get into everything she shouldnt like my wax warmer which she had to bump and get some on her fur which is another problem i have since idk how to get the little bit that is left off of her fur. I freaked when i first saw what she did since the wax was red and looked like blood but ya we have cleaned mkst kf jt and there is just so e residue left so any help wkth thatwould be great but back to the spay, what kind of behaviour  will she be showing, i was origionally going to leave for home with her right after she was done today since im in college but im waiting till tomorrow to be sure im close to the vet.any help is apreciated

Is her cage single story ? You don’t want her hopping up anything for a few days. Put her gently in her cage, leave her a lovely wet salad of her favourites. Fill her pellets and water, top up her hay then lay a towel or blanket over half the cage so it is quiet. Let her sleep undisturbed overnight. Check in ntermittently without disturbing her to make sure she is not in distress or chewing stitches. If she has not eaten or drank anything syringe about 3ml of water and let her be for an hour with a fresh salad. Let us know when she is home and keep us updated. The vet should either give you pain meds to bring home or my fed injects a slow release pain med, antibiotic and gut motility drug.

Ya i took the level out and made it into a ramp tht i covered in cloths for traction and i put a nice soft fleece in her cage where sbe will most likely be resting tho her favorite spot is up against the sliding door we have tht leads to our little deck . Last night i got her a special treat from the store tht she never gets but she loves so im going to give her one of those and iv got some romane for her , while im out i mkght grab something else like parsely or kale since she loves those but we are leaving for home tomorrow so i didnt want to get too much and waste it. I forgot to ask him what drugs he was going to use so i might txt him since i know when he gets done with surgeries ( i go to vet school and he is my teacher for a class lol ) ill be sure to keep this updated as to how she is doing when she gets home , thanks for the advice.

You don’t want her to jump on and off the ramp mid-way for a while.

Glad she went well.. Just like us the only thing they want after an episode as traumatic as surgery is some peace and quiet. It’s so tempting to want to fuss over them.
