Hi all. I feel like a terrible bunny parent for letting this go unnoticed, but I picked up Beans today to give him a good brush and clip his nails, and noticed what I think are sore hocks. I’ll post links to some pics below. Beans lives in my room which has hardwood floors, although he has three very soft (large) rugs around the room he likes to sit on. He spends most of his time under my bed, which is populated with shoe boxes. How can I help his sore hocks get better without having to carpet my whole room or keep him confined to his cage when I’m at work/out?

My bun just got over sore hocks and our vet suggested wrapping his feet up (Walter hated it) with gauze and vet wrap that you can get from your vet or at a pharmacy. Until the sores start to heal we put Neosporin on the gauze but, when the sores got a little better the vet said to keep wrapping them but don’t put anymore Neosporin on because it can eventually stop the healing process. I hope this helped!

Carpet is rather abrasive, could you cover it with towels or sheets? I would put fleeces and memory foam pads in the areas where he spends lots of time.

Thank you both! I’ll give my vet a call, and put down some foam pads on his favourite spots, hopefully it’ll help!

Buying Snoozzy mats for my buns condos really helped their sore hocks. They are made for dog kennels.
