Hey all,
I noticed Friday night while Gizmo was stretched out that the callus on his left foot looked a little more red than normal. The vet was closed all weekend so I picked up the original neosporin and have been putting that on each night (I also clipped the nails down a little in hopes that it would help until I can get the vet to do a good trim). I apologize, I haven’t thought to take a picture. It isn’t severe, I think I caught it right at the beginning, but I can see that there is a small sore. His vet is in surgery the next couple days so the earliest appointment I could make is for Thursday. I’ve lined his entire cage with blankets and am keeping a close eye on it. My question is, should I continue putting neosporin on his foot every night until his appointment? Is there any reason why that would interfere with healing? Of course I am trying to give plenty of time between each application to let his foot “breathe”.
Thanks for your advice!
Briana and Gizmo
